I'm not as effective as other ppl in this movement and it sometimes gets to me. I don't have the freedom or time to focus on how to reach more ppl.

I had someone write an email discussing the data, the need for it, and the use for it - all in a positive light. In the same email, the person was highly critical of personal posts, namely motivational or uplifting accounts from myself or relayed on behalf of others.

I had to reply that the most common themes when meeting other patriots throughout the country are those thoughts that come from people who were on the verge of resigning to defeat until they read about a story of success somewhere else, or from someone who drew motivation from someone else who didn't quit, someone who appreciates the wisdom relayed from people like my dad... I even had someone come to me and say they were on the brink of suicide until they were encouraged by a post that had to do with something other than statistics.

Make no mistake - I want my insights on data, my analysis, to make an earthly difference. But if all I amount to between the white lines here on Earth is a statistician who (hopefully) one day made a difference and changed minds in the political arena, I have fallen short. The lives that are changed when people come together and encourage others to reach greater heights, or to not throw in the towel for just one more day, is the higher calling. That is why I feel the way I do about veterans, many who are on the ledge after investing so much in something they believed in.

Yes, I will continue to explain, analyze, and crunch numbers and statistics. But I will not stop trying to pass along legitimate means of motivation, and a little bit of humor. That's just the way it is - don't tell others how to run a channel.
