Insect Farming Turns Organic Waste Into Food For Chickens

Recently discovered 'Better Origin', an UK company producing mobile insect farms for use in animal agriculture. Their product is a shipping container with AI & automated systems that manage the production of food scraps into larvae feed. These larvae grow full sized and are harvested to replace soy / grain feeds. The use of the land for larvae production is more efficient in comparison. There are also benefits to the health of the animals, showing improvements in behavior, feather count, and egg production.
However I definitely do not agree with the larvae being processed for consumption for humans, as this company has suggested as a use - along with their alignment with carbon agendas and reliance on AI.
Does insect farming instinctually turn you off, or do you think it can be harnessed for animal feed?

NASA & HAARP Use Long Wavelength Radio Signals To Scan The Inside Of Asteroids

The HAARP array (High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program) finished a new experiment Tuesday, scanning Asteroid 2010 XC15 which is about the size of a football field.
“We will be analyzing the data over the next few weeks and hope to publish the results in the coming months,” said Mark Haynes, lead investigator on the project and a radar systems engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California. “This experiment was the first time an asteroid observation was attempted at such low frequencies.
Those radar-imaging programs don’t provide information about an asteroid’s interior, however. They use signals of short wavelengths, which bounce off the surface and provide high-quality external images but don’t penetrate an object.
Long wavelength radio signals can reveal the interior of objects.
HAARP, using three powerful generators, began transmitting chirping signals of long wavelength at 2 a.m. Tuesday and continued sending them uninterrupted until the scheduled end of the 12-hour experiment.
The University of New Mexico Long Wavelength Array near Socorro, New Mexico, and the Owens Valley Radio Observatory Long Wavelength Array near Bishop, California, are also involved in the experiment.
HAARP has been long suspected of weather modification along with other stations capable of radiating the ionosphere. 300 different amateur scientists reported receiving this asteroid scan's signal across 6 continents.
Could there be other effects to our atmosphere and weather as a result of these tests?

Qualcomm & Iridium To Bring Satellite Messaging To Smartphones in 2023

Qualcomm, the top developer of mobile processors and 'system on a chip' (SoC) devices announced the latest version of its Snapdragon Mobile Platform (Snapdragon 8).
The new platform was debuted at CES 2023 in a remote location outside of Nevada, demonstrating the ability to receive messages outside the range of any radio towers.
This platform will feature Snapdragon Satellite, developed in collaboration with Iridium, a global satellite communications network that covers the entire earth using 66 satellites in low-earth-orbit (LEO) at a height of around 500 miles. This satellite network has been launched with assistance from companies like SpaceX.
Android phones with Snapdragon 8 may get access to Snapdragon Satellite later in 2023.
Currently this satellite system would only be able to do basic messages, much like SMS.
The snapdragon platform will also feature an 5G Modem and an 5G AI Processor - the first processor in the world to do so.

In February, for the first time ever - an individual will defend themselves in court with the help of an AI law platform, DoNotPay.
During the trial, an iPhone will be in the defendants pocket - equipped with the AI app that will listen to the case, and provide the defendant with arguments through an earpiece.
Originally developed by Stanford student Joshua Browder to fight parking tickets, DoNotPay is an automated AI solution that consults case law and automatically generates the relevant letters in over a 100 different areas from getting help with rent to hotel refunds.
"My goal with this company is to make the 200B legal profession free for consumers. I want to make big companies scared to mess with people and rip them off. I want to be like the general counsel for the consumer and fight back against these issues" - Joshua Browder
The vision of the project sounds noble, and is exciting in a time where governments and corporations have no respect for the law, it might provide an affordable way for people to defend themselves with legal letters.
With big VCs behind the company, and the founder having graduated through the Thiel fellowship - one has to wonder if the AI lawyer could eventually turn on its own clients in favor of its investors.

A device that can harvest water from the air and provide hydrogen fuel—entirely powered by solar energy—has been a dream for researchers for decades. Now, EPFL chemical engineer Kevin Sivula and his team have made a significant step towards bringing this vision closer to reality.
They have developed an ingenious yet simple system that combines semiconductor-based technology with novel electrodes that have two key characteristics: they are porous, to maximize contact with water in the air; and transparent, to maximize sunlight exposure of the semiconductor coating. When the device is simply exposed to sunlight, it takes water from the air and produces hydrogen gas. The results are published on 4 January 2023 in Advanced Materials.

Thanks to the good folks at @takebackourtech_chat for bringing this to my attention! We've now enabled it in our groups!
Now groups with 100 members or more can hide their member list, this will prevent spam bots from contacting everyone (in the future, they may have saved old lists)
First - make sure you're using the latest version of Telegram.
You can enable this protection in your group by:
Manage Group > Members > Hide Members
I wasn't able to see this option in Telegram FOSS, but I did find it in Telegram Desktop.
Apparently it has also been released in ForkGram, an alternative Telegram client.

Privacy Watchdog: ATF Uses Stingrays To Track Americans
The Project for Privacy & Surveillance Accountability announced this week that it has obtained records about the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ use of stingrays to track Americans.
Stingrays are a relatively new technology that simulate cell towers and collect signals from devices nearby.
PPSA filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the ATF in February 2021, and announced on Wednesday that it had received a batch of documents. According to PPSA, those documents show that the agency uses stingrays.
“The information released by the ATF confirms the agency is indeed utilizing stingray technology,” PPSA said. “Although the agency attempted to minimize the usage of stingrays, it is clear they are being widely used against Americans.”
PPSA has not published the documents it received, but described some of their contents.
“The ATF stressed that stingrays are not precise location trackers like GPS, despite the plethora of information stingrays can still provide,” the organization said. “Answers to questions from the Senate Appropriations Committee about the ATF’s usage of stingrays and license plate reader technology are entirely blacked out in the ATF documents we received.”
PPSA added that ATF policy conceals the use of these devices from their targets, even when relevant to their legal defense.
PPSA said there’s an example of this in the documents it received.
“When an ATF agent interviewed by a defense attorney revealed the use of the equipment, a large group email was sent out saying: ‘This was obviously a mistake and is being handled,’” the privacy watchdog said.
PPSA said it will continue to track stingray usage and report the responses it receives to its FOIA requests with various federal agencies.
Civil liberties activists have noted that the use of stingrays by law enforcement dramatically increased after the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in Carpenter v. U.S., which found that law enforcement’s warrantless collection of cell phone geolocation data violated the Fourth Amendment. Instead of obtaining warrants, police agencies have used stingrays as a workaround.

As some of you may know as part of my activist efforts, I co-produce The Greater Reset conference which we've been holding since the beginning of 2021. The fourth event TGR Co-Creation will start in 2 days!!
I'm currently down in Morelia, Mexico preparing for the production. It sounds like we will have around 500 people in attendance from all over the world (not including Mexicans!!).
This is our biggest event of the year, and I highly encourage you to tune into the live-stream starting from January 18th-22nd, 10 AM to 5 PM from January 18th - 22nd.

Apple Is Collecting Your Photos on macOS

One of my favorite security researchers Jeffrey Paul is back with another expose on Apple - this time he discovered his macOS computer connecting to Apple when he was browsing his photos.
Today, Apple scanned my local files and those scanning programs attempted to talk to Apple APIs, even though I don’t use iCloud, Apple Photos, or an Apple ID. This would have happened without my knoweldge or consent if I were not running third-party network monitoring software.
He makes the case that scanning of photos is connected to Apple's desires for scanning all photos for 'CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material)', while Apple's marketing tells you that 'privacy is a human right'.
Who knows what types of media governments will legally require Apple to scan for in the future? Today it’s CP, tomorrow it’s cartoons of the prophet (PBUH please don’t decapitate me). One thing you can be sure of is that this database of images for which your hardware will now be used to scan will regularly be amended and updated by people who are not you and are not accountable to you.
This is your first and only warning: Stock macOS now invades your privacy via the Internet when browing local files, taking actions that no reasonable person would expect to touch the network, with iCloud and all analytics turned off, no Apple apps launched (this happened in the Finder, via spacebar preview), and no Apple ID input. You have been notified of this new reality. You will receive no further warnings on the topic.
This is just going to accelerate the popularity of Linux! Cant wait to share the Above Book with yall.

Little-Known Surveillance Program Captures Money Transfers Between U.S. and More Than 20 Countries
Hundreds of federal, state and local U.S. law-enforcement agencies have access without court oversight to a database of more than 150 million money transfers between people in the U.S. and in more than 20 countries, according to internal program documents and an investigation by Sen. Ron Wyden.
The database, housed at a little-known nonprofit called the Transaction Record Analysis Center, or TRAC, was set up by the Arizona state attorney general’s office in 2014 as part of a settlement reached with Western Union to combat cross-border trafficking of drugs and people from Mexico.
It has since expanded to allow officials of more than 600 law-enforcement entities—from federal agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement to small-town police departments in nearly every state—to monitor the flow of funds through money services between the U.S. and countries around the world.
