Are We Powerless Against the Digital ID Future?

Mark Devlin and I discuss whether we can avoid a digital ID-dominated future or if we’re left with damage control. The momentum, money, and coordination behind AI and digital ID is massive, and the best move may be self-reliance. Can you source your essentials locally? It might not be a permanent fix, but staying connected to your community could make all the difference.

@durov — why on earth does Telegram not use HTTPS? this paper verified that unique device identifiers are sent completely naked over the internet, which would enable internet service providers and agencies to track users. you critique WhatsApp’s privacy -- but this appears to be a failure of yours. do you want people to switch away from Telegram?
fix this.

⚡️Anti-Drone Tech Hits FIFA World Cup

Thanks to the FIFA World Cup, we’re now seeing the largest drone deployments ever for public sporting events.

For the first time, state and local law enforcement will operate anti-drone surveillance, drone first responders, and kinetic counter-drone systems across 11 host cities.

Backed by the NDAA's Safer Skies Act and nearly $1 billion in FEMA funding, authorities now have expanded powers to detect, seize, disable, and even destroy drones they deem a threat.

From identifying a pilot's location to autonomously intercepting aircraft mid-flight, these systems are bringing a new layer of surveillance to public events.

🐔 Mass Non-Compliance Works.

Mexico tried to force Digital ID & Biometrics on 82 million people -- and they failed.

June 30th was the deadline for people to register with the 'CURP', Mexico's biometric registration system. As of the deadline, 82 million lines are still not registered. This band of holdouts is preventing Mexico from becoming a total technocratic state.

Let's take a lesson from them. Never comply with Digital ID.

¡Viva la Independencia!

⚡️Telegram Leaks Unique Device Identifiers

Pavel Durov, you have failed us big time.

A new paper from cryptographer Nadim Kobessi found that Telegram is sending users' unique device identifiers over the internet in plaintext instead of protecting them with HTTPS. This could allow anyone monitoring network traffic, from your internet service provider to an intelligence agency, to collect metadata that helps reveal who is talking to whom, when, and where from.

The worst part? The fix is incredibly simple. Telegram could enable HTTPS, but it hasn't. Until we see real accountability, we're no longer recommending Telegram and are moving to a messaging protocol built to minimize metadata.

Please read and share my latest article for TLAV:

Mexican Government Delays Biometric Registration Deadline After Massive Public Resistance

Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum has announced an extension to a controversial deadline that required Mexican citizens and foreign residents to register their phone lines with their identification. The move comes after less than half of the country signed up to register their phone lines.

The lessons learned in Mexico are instructive for those looking to resist or opt out of other forms of invasive, privacy-destroying, technocratic programs. While the deadline extension is not a complete win for the Mexican people—the government and the telecoms aren’t giving up that easily, after all—it does show that non-compliance and foot-dragging can have an impact.

NEW: Will Mexico Cut the Phone Lines of Millions of People Next Week?

In this clip from TCR Live #181, journalist Derrick Broze breaks down the latest information on the Mexican government’s attempt to force residents to register their phone lines with their identification. The Mexican public has been resisting the registration, particularly the biometric component. It appears the government is close to delaying their deadline.

UK & Canada's Surveillance Bills

The UK is moving forward with a social media ban for children under 16, but the changes affect far more than kids.

To enforce the ban, platforms will have to verify users' ages. While officials haven't confirmed exactly how, facial scans, digital IDs, and other age verification schemes are all on the table. The government is also researching ways to prevent people from bypassing the rules with VPNs.

Meanwhile, Canada's Bill C-22 would expand police powers by allowing warrantless access to subscriber information and could require service providers to build the capability to hand over data or intercept communications. Companies may even be forced to retain data they would normally delete and keep government orders secret.

As surveillance powers continue to expand, protecting your personal information has never been more important.

⚡️Esoteric Technologies and Hidden Cities with Cultivate Elevate

Our world remains mysterious. Even after all this time, it feels like parts of the old world have been hidden from us or forgotten completely. Technologies that could have had profound effects on our health. Energy systems that worked with nature instead of against it. Architecture that looked like it belonged to a more advanced civilization than the one we are told existed.

Why did we lose this knowledge? And if we understood these histories more clearly, could we become freer people today?

I had the opportunity to speak with Matt from Cultivate Elevate, who has devoted years of his life to uncovering these mysteries. He has studied old books, forgotten images, World’s Fair architecture, EMF exposure, radium, and the deeper relationship between the natural world and human health.

Were these technologies truly forgotten, or were they intentionally buried?

⚡️Cosmology of Ayurveda

I’m excited to share the first episode of a new series, Real World Ayurveda.

In Episode 1, Nicole and I explore the Cosmology of Ayurveda and the structures and dynamics that help us understand Ayurveda as a reality-based medicine.

This first conversation is meant to be an orientation, helping demystify Ayurveda and make this ancient science more accessible for the world we’re living in today.

We also begin to look at some of the key differences between allopathic medicine and Ayurvedic health care, including the understanding that you know yourself best, and the inescapable reality of the law of Karma.

We've been quiet recently because Mark Goodwin and I have been working to write the most comprehensive investigation into Polymarket's origins and ambitions to date.

We found that Polymarket's "official" origin story, that Shayne Coplan founded the company alone in 2020 and then built "the company in his bathroom", is a lie. Polymarket really started years earlier as another company called TokenBnk that was deeply tied to Israeli interests, specifically a crypto company founded by Benjamin Netanyahu's niece and nephew. Coplan has actively tried to obfuscate this company from his story and it's not the only thing either.

In Part 1 of this two-part series, we unravel the real history of Polymarket, directly connecting the company to Peter Thiel's efforts to resurrect controversial DARPA programs from its now defunct Information Awareness Office. Polymarket appears to have been chosen by Thiel and his associates to succeed in resurrecting DARPA's Policy Analysis Market where another Thiel-linked company, Augur, had previously failed.

Stay tuned for Part 2, where we explore the current influence of prediction markets and Polymarket, including how an insidious effort to have prediction markets replace representative democracy as a governance model is already being slowly implemented by the White House.

AI Needs More Power. Your Neighborhood Might Pay for It.

To meet AI’s power demands, companies propose building their own power plants. But can they really stay independent of the grid? If it’s powering a data center or powering your neighborhood, which will take priority? We can see clear examples of communities who are being told there is just not enough power for them.
