🧠 New U.S. Biometrics Rule Coming to an Airport Near You

The U.S. has quietly moved from pilot programs to a nationwide biometric exit system.

U.S. Customs and Border protections will now photograph all noncitizen travelers upon entry and exit, using facial recognition linked to cloud-based databases.

This marks a major step toward a comprehensive digital ID system, replacing border agents with biometric surveillance tech.

With up to 15,000 airport gates to equip — and land borders already rolling out “Simplified Arrival-Vehicle” scanners — the infrastructure for full biometric tracking is here.

The question now: how long until it includes U.S. citizens?

Today I watched this video of a couple sharing their experiences avoiding Biometric scans in South America, which are common place there as well. They talk about their experiences such as having to wait an extra hour in Peru while they figured it out. They were able to opt out of everything in South America, but these countries don't have formal laws for biometric entry/exit - I don't think the same strategy would work in the EU, but I hope to be proven wrong.
