🇺🇸🇺🇦❗️ President Trump, via Truth Social, criticized Ukrainian President Zelensky for remarks made in The Wall Street Journal, calling them a serious obstacle to peace talks with Russia.

➡️ Zelensky had declared, “Ukraine will not legally recognize the occupation of Crimea. There’s nothing to talk about here,” which Trump argues was a boastful and counterproductive stance.

➡️ Trump noted that Crimea was effectively lost during President Barack Obama’s administration and suggested Ukraine missed its chance to resist at the time: “If he wants Crimea, why didn’t they fight for it eleven years ago when it was handed over to Russia without a shot being fired?”

➡️ He emphasized that nobody is asking Ukraine to formally recognize Crimea as Russian but insisted such rhetoric only escalates tensions.

➡️ Warning that “the situation for Ukraine is dire,” Trump said Zelensky could either pursue peace or risk “fighting for another three years before losing the whole country.”
