If you asked me what and who caused the financial crisis, I would tell you it was Bill Clinton.

Bannon: Have you ever seen someone die? When they die, their spirit leaves.

Epstein: Their soul leaves. No question.

Bannon: Because people would normally think you were soulless. To have you talk about you actually believe in it and have done some thinking about it is pretty shocking in its own right, isn't it?

Not only does it have a soul, but there's some way it was put together that this material substance is able to think. It's obvious to everyone that there's such a thing as a soul.

In many professions, including Wall Street, Wall Street makes it sound complicated.

They don't want the little guy to understand what they do because they make so much money and they don't do very much.

So they couch it in words like "derivative," "stock options," "commodity futures," and "different types of contracts."

It's all fair; everyone is capable of understanding it. It is not complicated. But Wall Street, because they make so much money from doing fairly simple things, needs to make it more complicated than it really is.

Bannon: When do you think human life starts?

Epstein: You're asking me to measure something again.

Bannon: It can't be measured. You just hate making commitments.

Epstein: That's why I'm not married.

Bannon: All your bullshit and happy talking can't be measured. You don't even like a commitment when you answer a question.

Epstein: I don't know what it means to be measured.

Bannon: You do know what it means to be measured. You’re one of the leading currency traders, hedge fund guys or stock market financial wizards. You’re in the high priesthood of high finance. You certainly know how to measure. That’s why you’re a billionaire. Any other answer besides that is total and complete bullshit, and you know it.

Epstein: I know very few things.

Bannon: You know things can be measured. You measure every day. You weigh and measure people. You weigh and measure leaders. You weigh and measure economies. You weigh and measure politics. Your whole life, in fact, is measuring.

Epstein: So what you’ve now done is a great thing is you’ve used the word measure, a mathematic term in the common vernacular, and abused it. So I don’t even recognize what it means. It’s so abusive to my field.

Bannon: You're making a call to Washington, D.C., to talk to somebody, some deputy secretary?

Epstein: Someone in Treasury.

Bannon: Didn't you have a moment of self-reflection and think, "How did I end up on this metal cot when I should be at the center of things?"

Epstein: No, I had a telephone, so I said I can talk to [whoever]; it makes no difference where I am.

In fact, I'm still be talking to the same person if I were at my home in Palm Beach, but I'm here in jail; I can dial my own phone.

Think how much better that was. I had to decide who was the right person to call. That was unusual for me.

I'm not concerned about war. What I'm concerned of is miscalculations.

I think President Trump is wise enough to make the correct decision.

We have lost our trust to the United States as a negotiating partner. There are now some intermediators, some friendly countries in the region who are trying to build this confidence.

I see the possibility of another talk if the U.S. negotiation team follows what President Trump said: "A fair and equitable deal to ensure that there is no nuclear weapons."

The Americans should know if they start a war, this time it will be a regional war.

These Epstein documents are appearing, and now I expect a strike on Iran and some other big major events within the next 48 hours.

I don't believe that will be the exact reason, but will it speed up some decisions? I'm almost sure.

I have received the greatly troubling news regarding an increase in tensions between Cuba and the United States of America, two neighboring countries.

I echo the message of the Cuban bishops, inviting all responsible parties to promote a sincere and effective dialogue, in order to avoid violence and every action that could increase the suffering of the dear Cuban people.

They support collapse, but not in a sudden and brutal way. They prefer a more controlled erosion of the regime.

Cuba is a failing nation. It has been for a long time. But now it doesn't have Venezuela to prop it up.

We're talking to the people from Cuba, the highest people in Cuba, to see what happens. I want the people that came here that were horribly treated by Cuba to be taken care of, to be able to go back and do what they have to do.

I think we're going to make a deal with Cuba. Cuba is in bad shape. Cuba has a humanitarian problem.
