Syria is following with great interest the recent developments in the sisterly Republic of Yemen. It reaffirms its unwavering support for the unity, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Yemen, and its solidarity with the Yemeni people in their legitimate aspirations for security and stability.

The Syrian Arab Republic expresses its full support for the legitimate Yemeni government led by the Presidential Leadership Council, calling on all Yemeni parties to exercise restraint, avoid escalation, prioritize dialogue, and place the supreme national interest above all else, in order to preserve the country's unity, security, and stability.

In this context, Syria appreciates the efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, in coordination with the Yemeni government, to contain tensions and de-escalate the situation in several Yemeni governorates, and affirms its support for the statement issued by the Kingdom

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's reaffirmation of its full support for the sovereignty of the sister Federal Republic of Somalia and the unity and territorial integrity thereof, and expresses its rejection of the announcement of mutual recognition between the Israeli occupation authorities and the region of Somaliland, considering it to entrench unilateral separatist measures that violate international law.

The United States is concerned by recent events in southeastern Yemen.

We urge restraint and continued diplomacy, with a view to reaching a lasting solution.
