🇺🇸⚡️ Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), in coordination with U.S. Border Patrol, uncovered a "sophisticated cross-border tunnel" connecting El Paso, Texas, to Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, on Friday, January 10.

HSI El Paso is leading the investigation to identify and prosecute those responsible for constructing the tunnel, which Border Patrol described as an "historic" discovery.

The tunnel extends under the U.S.-Mexico border into the Boone Street storm drain in South-Central El Paso. Measuring approximately 4 feet wide and 6 feet tall, it is reinforced with wood beams, equipped with lighting, ventilation, and electricity, and is believed to have been built within the last year.

Discovered by Border Patrol’s Confined Space Entry Team early Friday morning, the tunnel connects Juarez to El Paso’s storm drain system. HSI is working closely with authorities in Juarez to ensure the tunnel is secured and its operations dismantled.
