Abkhazian President Aslan Bzhania has reportedly agreed to resign following widespread protests in the republic.

During a meeting with a delegation of protesters, Bzhania proposed stepping down and appointing Vice President Badra Gunb as acting president. However, the protesters rejected this offer, demanding the resignation of Bzhania’s entire administration.

Contrary to these claims, opposition leader Levan Mikaa alleges that Bzhania has fled to a Russian military unit.

🇺🇸🇩🇪🇺🇦🇷🇺❗️ German Chancellor Olaf Scholz shared insights from his conversation with President-elect Donald Trump, suggesting that Trump holds a “more nuanced” position on Ukraine than often perceived.

In an interview with Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Scholz described the discussion as “very detailed and kind.”

The two leaders spoke at length about the war in Ukraine, during which Scholz noted Trump’s position seemed more complex than commonly portrayed, though he did not elaborate further.

When asked if Trump might negotiate an end to the conflict with Russia over Ukraine’s objections, Scholz stated that Trump gave “no indication” of such intentions during their discussion.
