Highlights
•
Scalp-to-cortex distance (SCD) and the comprising tissues are different across age groups.
•
Across 19 regions, we examined age and sex effects on the SCD tissues in 250 adults.
•
Older adults have larger SCD values in frontal and central regions than younger adults
•
The comprising tissues show unique age and sex differences, depending on the region
•
Considering tissue changes is key for scalp-based neuroimaging and brain stimulation

TRANSCRANIAL DIRECT CURRENT STIMULATION AND NEURAL MOBILIZATION IN INDIVIDUALS WITH SCIATICA: RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIAL PROTOCOL - ScienceDirect
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1413355524000546
It is hypothesized that subjects presenting neuropathic pain, as in sciatica, may benefit from a treatment approach that stimulates adaptive neuroplasticity towards reducing pain intensity and functional disability by stimulating descending inhibitory pathways.

The effect of transcranial direct current stimulation on rating of perceived exertion: A systematic review of the literature
Baharlouei 2024
A-tDCS is a promising technique that can decrease the RPE. M1 and DLPFC are suggested as the target area of stimulation. From the tools that measure the RPE, Borg's RPE 6-20 and OMNI scale could better show the effect of a-tDCS.

Posture enhancement with cerebellum transcranial electrical stimulation: a systematic review of current methods and findings
Experimental Brain Research - Recently, transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) has gained increasing popularity among researchers, especially for recovery and improvement, but interpretation of...
Volume-level, whole brain, mean E-field magnitude outcome measure per modality. On the left, the boxplots for TMS indicate that the larger 70 mm figure- eight TMS coil induces the highest E-field magnitude. On the right, the boxplots for tES indicate that conventional and bilateral tES induce substantially higher mean E-field magnitudes than 4 × 1 tES. Overall, the mean E-field magnitudes are higher when targeting C3 compared to F3.
