to those of you kids, it's time to put your pens down...

if you're doing homework for the sake of just completing it instead of properly studying and absorbing the material, then there's no purpose in finishing them already!!

remember, the teachers have set these assignments for you guys to STUDY and improve your grades, NOT to torture you

so as much as possible, get some shut-eye and catch some sleep, guys!! tomorrow is a dreadful day but i'm sure you guys can make it through (。•̀ᴗ-)✧

cognitive neuroscience (measuring brain activity)
positron emission tomography (PET) is a type of nuclear medicine procedure that measures metabolic activity of the cells of body tissues. PET is actually a combination of nuclear medicine and biochemical analysis.

Positron emission tomography (PET) is a functional imaging technique that uses radioactive substances known as radiotracers to visualize and measure changes in metabolic processes, and in other physiological activities including blood flow, regional chemical composition, and absorption.

If undergoing a combination PET-CT scan, the iodine-based contrast dye used for the CT component can cause side effects, including nausea, vomiting, headache, itching, flushing, and mild rash. In rare cases, a serious, all-body allergic reaction known as anaphylaxis may occur. [x]

functional magnetic resonance imaging (FMRI) is a technique for measuring and mapping brain activity that is non-invasive and safe. function: revealing the underpinnings of everything from motor and sensory processes to the foundations of social cognition [x]

In rare cases, some people experience side effects such as nausea, pain, or an allergic reaction to the injected contrast medium. Tell your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms. [x]

otherwise, an fMRI is safe, painless, and noninvasive. there are no known health risks associated with the procedure, as long as the patient has no metal or electronic implants (because the MRI machine has a very powerful magnet). [x]

#note — psychology notes? i wanted to do some research on psych since i'm eae-ing for it but figured i won't even need this info unless i've been selected for the aptitiude test, interview, submission of portfolio, etc

so here i am sharing it because why not!! psych is fun :]

WHAT WOULD I HAVE DONE IF NOT FOR YOU ALL 😭🙏🏻

okay thank you sm everyone 🫶🏻🫶🏻
hi everyone, my fellow struggling students

i had such a
horrifically overwhelming day; i don't think it's that bad but i'm so upset by the fact that i only managed to finish 2 out of 3 write-ups despite going to the library at 10am

this is probably because of the constant migraines, stomachache, passing gastric reflux and whatnot i experienced throughout the day – because i stubbornly didn't want to spend much $ buying food SIGH and didn't drink enough water (idk, my water bottle tastes funky)

but you know what, i got something done and i'm trying my best to be okay with that! i should've known better to take care of myself

so this is a reflection and gentle reminder from me to you all, health comes before anything else! do take good care of yourselves 🥰

i hope that your first day back in school went well, and if not, it's okay. we can always try again the next day, the day after that and so on 🌻 just like sunflowers, let's keep looking at the bright side! have a good night everyone c:

time management tips #tipsbykhad

tip no.1: the urgent vs important quadrant
-> what does it consist of?
(a) urgent & important (UI)
eg. subjects you’re weak at
(b) not urgent but important (NUI)
eg. studying subjects you’re strong in
(c) urgent but not important (UNI)
eg. editing videos
(d) not urgent & not important (NUNI)
eg. watching Netflix
-> how this works?
allows you to prioritise your to do’s. write the short form (in the brackets) beside your to do list to take note what to prioritise

tip no.2: energy management
-> finding out your energy levels at different times
• draw a graph that shows how your energy levels changes during different times of the day
note: for this to work, observe your energy/study patterns at different times of the day
• organise your priorities (from tip no.1) according to your energy levels see what suits best. more energy required for more difficult tasks
-> renewing your energy (taking breaks)
• healthy energy food eg. almonds, energy drinks (healthy ones pls) etc
• exercise
• talk to other people
• spiritual recharge (pray, read etc)

tip no.3: plan overview of what you want to achieve every month
-> space out your revision plans over the months
- best focus on the weaker ones first
