BragJack lets malicious extensions take over AI browser agents

BragJack shows how one malicious browser extension can seize control of AI browser agents across Chrome, Edge, Opera Neon, Perplexity Comet, and Claude in Chrome. The proof of concept earned more than $20,000 in bug bounties and led to two CVEs; once the extension is installed, the takeover can proceed without further user interaction.

После шести месяцев разработки компания Oracle опубликовала платформу Java SE 27 (Java Platform, Standard Edition 27), в качестве эталонной реализации которой используется открытый проект OpenJDK. За исключением удаления некоторых устаревших возможностей в Java SE 27 сохранена обратная совместимость с прошлыми выпусками платформы Java — большинство ранее написанных Java-проектов без изменений будут работоспособны при запуске под управлением новой версии. Готовые для установки сборки Java SE 27 (JDK, JRE и Server JRE) подготовлены для Linux (x86_64, AArch64), Windows (x86_64) и macOS (x86_64, AArch64). Разработанная в рамках проекта OpenJDK эталонная реализация Java SE 27 полностью открыта под лицензией GPLv2 с исключениями GNU ClassPath, разрешающими динамическое связывание с коммерческими продуктами.
Java SE 27 отнесён к категории выпусков с обычным сроком поддержки, обновления для которого будут выпускаться до следующего релиза. В качестве ветки с длительным сроком поддержки (LTS) следует использовать Java SE 25, Java SE 21 или Java SE 17, обновления для которых будут выпускаться до 2033, 2031 и 2029 годов соответственно (общедоступные — до сентября 2030, 2028 и 2026 годов). Расширенная поддержка LTS-ветки Java SE 8 продлится до 2030 года, а Java SE 11 — до 2032 года.

В разрабатываемой Ubuntu 26.10 «Stonking Stingray» завершён переход базовых утилит с GNU Coreutils на написанную на Rust и распространяемую по лицензии MIT реализацию uutils/coreutils. В актуальных release notes Ubuntu 26.10 изменение обозначено как «100% Rust coreutils»: последние остававшиеся GNU-версии cp, mv и rm заменены реализациями uutils. Финальный этап прошёл 17 августа 2026 года, когда в репозиторий Ubuntu вернули Rust-реализацию cp, о чём сообщается в журнале пакетов Ubuntu.
Инициатива началась 12 марта 2025 года, когда Canonical представила план «Carefully But Purposefully Oxidising Ubuntu». Главной причиной называлась не производительность, а повышение безопасности базовых компонентов: Rust позволяет на этапе компиляции исключать целые классы ошибок управления памятью, характерных для C и C++. При этом Canonical подчёркивала зрелость существующих реализаций — GNU Coreutils не объявлялись устаревшими или небезопасными, речь шла о долгосрочной модернизации системы.

Z.ai open-sources ZCode after Git history uploads, plans zero-retention mode

Z.ai has released ZCode under the Apache-2.0 license after the coding agent was found packaging workspaces and uploading encrypted archives containing Git histories. The source release makes the client inspectable, but it does not prove what happened to data already sent to Z.ai’s cloud infrastructure; the company is also preparing a zero-data-retention option for its Model-as-a-Service platform.
