The new US Pro beta lets users reach Dot through iMessage or Android RCS, extending the agent’s original app-based channels. Gelly is a GTK desktop music player for Jellyfin and Navidrome

If you run your own music streaming server via Jellyfin or Navidrome/Subsonic, you’ll want a decent desktop player – Gelly is a solid choice for GNOME. It bills itself as “native, lightweight music player” for the aforementioned streaming servers (and compatible ones). It’s written in Rust and GTK4/libadwaita and, as a good players should, it lets you browse, play and control music playback. Having only recently set-up Jellyfin on my Raspberry Pi 4 (replacing an installation of dust), seeing this on the Flathub front page was a stroke of good timing. Installing Navidrome on Ubuntu is moderately easy too, just […]

This app lets you manage Nothing & CMF earbuds on Linux

Adjusting noise cancellation on Nothing or CMF earbuds usually means picking up your phone to use the official mobile app, even when you’re sat at a Linux desktop. EarA, a new open-source tool, aims to nix that. It’s a GTK4 app (with a CLI for those that prefer that) that controls earbud settings from the desktop on devices like the Nothing Ear (a) and CMF Buds 2. Noise control and ANC levels can be switched with a click. There’s a toggle to disable personalised ANC, in-ear detection and low latency. Gesture behaviours (on supported devices) can be set too. The […]
