Another package went missing from Ubuntu 26.04 LTS’s minimal cloud images, this time xxd , a CLI tool for viewing files as hexadecimals. It’s the second time this has happened, following the accidental removal of curl I reported on in August. Both packages vanished for the same reason. When Canonical dropped its pollinate tool, which had been used to generate ‘randomness’ during boot, it altered the image’s dependency chain and packages that relied on it, quietly disappeared along with it. GPT-6 Astra hits 53% on Rails benchmark while Gemini regresses

GPT-6 Astra climbed from 35% to 53% on the Agents on Rails coding benchmark when reasoning was pushed to maximum, but Gemini went backward despite higher cost and effort. The results show that maximum reasoning is a model-specific tradeoff—not a universal accuracy upgrade—and even rescued GPT-5.6 Luna from a scoreless previous run.

Опубликован релиз операционной системы NetBSD 10.2, который отнесён к категории корректирующих обновлений и включает в основном исправления проблем и уявзимостей, выявленных с момента публикации NetBSD 10.1 в декабре 2024 года. Ветка NetBSD 10 будет поддерживаться до релиза NetBSD 12.0. Для загрузки подготовлены установочные образы размером 639 МБ, доступные в сборках для 57 системных архитектур и 16 различных семейств CPU.
