Sublime Text gains new C# highlighter, file icon themes

A new version of Sublime Text is out – the first major update to the cross-platform (and closed-source) text editor since May 2025. Sublime Text v4213 makes Python 3.14 the default (replacing v3.8). The editor still ships Python 3.3 – ancient as it is – but disabled by default. It will be removed in a future update, but sticks around a little longer incase of plugin compatibility issues. Wget2 предоставляет набор дополнительных опций, поддерживает загрузку в несколько потоков, позволяет использовать доступную функциональность через библиотеку libwget, поддерживает протоколы HTTP/2 и TLS 1.3, даёт возможность загружать только изменившиеся данные, может сохранять данные с серверов потокового вещания, корректно обрабатывает интернационализированные доменные имена и может перекодировать загружаемое содержимое. Microsoft freezes Microsoft 365 companion apps ahead of 2026 shutdown

Microsoft has stopped updates and automatic installations for the Microsoft 365 Calendar, People, and Files companion apps ahead of their permanent retirement on December 16, 2026. Existing copies may continue running until then, but administrators should now prevent redeployment and begin removing them from managed devices.

Microsoft has released Windows Admin Center version 2610 as a public preview. The headline change is a combined installer that covers both Administration Mode (aMode) and Virtualization Mode (vMode). The preview also adds Azure Arc onboarding, backup and restore, and certificate lifecycle management to vMode, plus a redesigned Azure registration experience. At the same time, Microsoft removed the preview VM Conversion tool for VMware migrations because of a change at Broadcom.

Another package went missing from Ubuntu 26.04 LTS’s minimal cloud images, this time xxd , a CLI tool for viewing files as hexadecimals. It’s the second time this has happened, following the accidental removal of curl I reported on in August. Both packages vanished for the same reason. When Canonical dropped its pollinate tool, which had been used to generate ‘randomness’ during boot, it altered the image’s dependency chain and packages that relied on it, quietly disappeared along with it. GPT-6 Astra climbed from 35% to 53% on the Agents on Rails coding benchmark when reasoning was pushed to maximum, but Gemini went backward despite higher cost and effort.
