Опубликован первый выпуск проекта FreeCORE, развивающего дистрибутив для быстрого развёртывания сетевого хранилища (NAS, Network-Attached Storage) на технологиях FreeBSD и OpenZFS. FreeCORE создан как форк кодовой базы дистрибутива TrueNAS CORE (потомок FreeNAS), в 2024 году переведённого в режим сопровождения, ограниченного исправлением ошибок и проблем с безопасностью. Развитие TrueNAS CORE было прекращено компанией iXsystems в пользу редакции TrueNAS SCALE, в которой используется ядро Linux и пакетная база Debian.

Linux 7.3-rc1 nears 41 million lines as AMD GPU code drives the surge

В инфраструктуре ALT Linux произошло важное обновление. В сервисе ALT Linux ID теперь доступен полноценный личный кабинет пользователя.
Что нового:

Управление профилем, паролем и способами входа.
Добавление и управление SSH- и GPG-ключами.
Просмотр и завершение активных сессий.
Раздел «Уведомления» (в разработке).

ALT Linux ID уже используется для аутентификации на ALT Linux Space и Matrix-сервере altlinux.org. Расширение функциональности сервиса никак не влияет на доступ к репозиториям пакетов.
Важно: для членов ALT Linux Team с почтовыми адресами в домене @altlinux.org потребуется принудительный сброс пароля учётной записи.

A PowerShell script can now compare Microsoft Graph’s current permissions with a stored baseline and alert administrators when Microsoft adds narrower or new access options. The automation also uncovered a problem in Azure Automation: Microsoft Graph Files cmdlets were unavailable in the PowerShell 7.4 runtime, forcing a switch to direct Graph API requests.

‍11 российских аэропортов перевели виртуализацию с VMware на основанную на Linux платформу zVirt

31 августа стало известно о переводе инфраструктуры 11 российских аэропортов с VMware на российскую систему виртуализации zVirt. На сайте разработчика Orion soft опубликованы отдельные материалы о внедрении в аэропортах Уфы (orionsoft.ru), Шереметьево, Пулково, Анапы, Сочи, Краснодара, Кольцово, Казани, Красноярска (Емельяново), Волгограда и Внуково.
Во всех описанных случаях ранее применялась VMware. В качестве причин замены Orion soft называет прекращение технической поддержки и получения обновлений после ухода VMware с российского рынка, а также требования импортозамещения для объектов критической информационной инфраструктуры. Например, в кейсе аэропорта Уфы говорится о поэтапной миграции с предварительным тестированием и минимизацией простоев, а в кейсе Красноярска — о переносе виртуальных машин с VMware с минимальными перерывами в работе критичных сервисов.

If you’re wondering why you can’t do a directly upgrade to Ubuntu 26.04 from 24.04 yet, despite the Resolute Raccoon’s first point release being live, there is a reason. Canonical’s Oliver Reiche said in the mailing list announcement for Ubuntu 26.04.1 LTS that upgrades will be delayed by a few weeks to allow couple of backports to land. Claude Max 20x lawsuit challenges what Anthropic’s “20x” promise means

Anthropic’s $200-per-month Claude Max 20x plan is facing a proposed class action alleging that its headline multiplier applies only to a five-hour session, not to the weekly capacity customers actually use. Sony and Warner sue Anthropic over Claude training data and tens of thousands of songs

Sony Music Publishing and Warner Chappell Music have sued Anthropic, alleging that Claude was trained using tens of thousands of copyrighted songs and lyrics obtained through unauthorized copying. The complaint also names CEO Dario Amodei and co-founder Benjamin Mann, and could expose Anthropic to billions of dollars in statutory damages.

Windows 11 KB5120998: New features and issues

Microsoft released KB5120998 on August 27, 2026, as an optional preview cumulative update for Windows 11 versions 24H2 (build 26100.9278) and 25H2 (build 26200.9278). The update adds taskbar and Start menu customization, search changes, security-related platform features, and removes the WMIC command-line tool. Microsoft is investigating reports that mouse cursor personalization settings are reset after installation, and users are also reporting desktop wallpaper and text-rendering problems that Microsoft has not yet acknowledged. You can install the update from Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates. The September 2026 Patch Tuesday release is expected to include this preview's changes, but features that use a gradual rollout still reach devices over time rather than all at once, so availability can vary by device.
