Anthropic keeps stronger Model 2 internal as AI risk rating rises
Anthropic says its unreleased Model 2 is more capable than Mythos 5, but has no plans to offer it publicly as the company raises its assessment of high-stakes AI misalignment risk from “very low” to “low.” The decision comes as Anthropic observes faster progress in automated AI research and development, a capability that could also make misuse more dangerous.

Google puts A2A under Linux Foundation governance alongside MCP
Google is transferring its Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol to the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF), placing the standard for communication between AI agents under the same neutral umbrella as Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP).

Wordbook is a modern offline dictionary for GNOME
They say never judge a book by its cover, and few do if said book is a dictionary – but what about desktop dictionary apps? I recently discovered Wordbook, a modern English-English dictionary powered by OpenEnglish WordNet and eSpeak for pronunciations, that works entirely offline. Wordbook is in GNOME Circle; the GTK4/libadwaita UI is a good fit for the desktop. Wordbook uses a lexical database, with words grouped into ‘synsets’ based on their meaning. It makes it easier to explore related words, distinguish between words that look similar (but have different meanings) and find different precise alternatives. A random word […]
