Опубликован выпуск проекта uutils coreutils 0.9.0 (Rust Coreutils), развивающего аналог пакета GNU Coreutils, написанный на языке Rust. В состав coreutils входит более ста утилит, включая sort, cat, chmod, chown, chroot, cp, date, dd, echo, hostname, id, ln и ls. Целью проекта является создание кроссплатформенной альтернативной реализации Coreutils, среди прочего способной работать на платформах Windows, Redox и Fuchsia.

Проект ReactOS подготовил единый BootCD, заменивший собой ранее раздельные установочные носители и LiveCD-образы. Новый образ совмещает традиционный текстовый установщик и режим LiveCD на одном носителе. Внутри унифицированного BootCD обновлённый LiveCD-режим теперь включает опцию запуска полностью графического установщика системы. Графический интерфейс призван сделать установку более доступной для новых пользователей по сравнению с давно существующим текстовым процессом настройки, особенно при использовании USB-носителей.

AI search agents rely on internal memory rather than real-time web research

New research reveals that leading AI search agents often suffer from intrinsic knowledge dependence, a phenomenon where models rely on pre-trained memory instead of active web browsing. While these agents achieve high scores on traditional benchmarks, their performance collapses when tasked with finding obscure information from the last 90 days. This suggests that current leaderboards may be measuring a model's internal database rather than its actual ability to navigate and synthesize the live web.

NixOS 26.05 «Yarara»

Разработчики NixOS представили релиз NixOS 26.05 «Yarara» — очередную стабильную версию дистрибутива, построенного вокруг декларативной конфигурации системы и пакетного менеджера Nix. Релиз будет получать исправления ошибок и обновления безопасности до 31 декабря 2026 года, а предыдущая ветка NixOS 25.11 «Xantusia» объявлена устаревшей и достигнет конца поддержки 30 июня 2026 года.
В подготовке выпуска участвовали 2842 разработчика, внёсшие 59 703 коммита с момента предыдущего релиза. В Nixpkgs добавлено 20 442 новых пакета, обновлён 20 641 пакет, удалено 17 532 устаревших пакета. В самом NixOS появилось 85 новых модулей и 1547 новых параметров конфигурации.

В NixOS вся настройка системы осуществляется через единый файл системной конфигурации configuration.nix. Предоставляются возможности для быстрого отката системы на предыдущую версию конфигурации и переключения между различными состояниями системы. Поддерживается установка индивидуальных пакетов отдельными пользователями и возможность одновременного использования нескольких версий одной программы. Обеспечены воспроизводимые сборки. Для архитектур x86_64 и ARM64 подготовлены установочный образы с графическим окружением (3.7 ГБ) и сокращённым консольным вариантом (1.6 ГБ).

Dutch authorities dismantle massive 17 million device residential proxy botnet

The Dutch National Police and the National Cyber Security Center have successfully dismantled a massive botnet consisting of more than 17 million compromised devices. This operation involved the seizure of several servers from a local hosting provider after a security researcher alerted authorities to the infrastructure. The network was managed through approximately 200 command-and-control servers located within the Netherlands to facilitate various cybercriminal activities.
