Альт Рабочая станция K 11.3

Вышел минорный релиз операционной системы «Альт Рабочая станция K» 11.3. Сборка подготовлена на x86_64 на базе ядра 6.12 (LTS).
В новом образе:

KDE Plasma 6.5 (Plasma 6.5, Gear 25.12, Frameworks 6.23).
Теперь экран входа в систему LightDM KDE Greeter запускается с поддержкой Wayland по умолчанию вместо устаревшей графической подсистемы X11 (Xorg).
Появилась автоматическая смена темы (светлая/темная) в зависимости от времени суток.
Добавлено приложение из набора KDE: RSI Break для организации перерывов в работе, которые помогут предотвратить травмы, вызванные однообразной нагрузкой (Repetitive strain injury).
Система сборки и управления пакетами Stapler (пакет stplr) позволяет подключать пользовательские репозитории и устанавливать стороннее программное обеспечение.

Podroid — запуск Linux-контейнеров на Android без root-прав

Приложение Podroid позволяет пользователю запускать на устройстве под управлением Android облегченную виртуальную машину Alpine Linux с использованием QEMU и предоставляет полностью работоспособную среду выполнения контейнеров Podman со встроенным терминалом.
Приложение для собственной работы использует Termux в качестве эмулятора терминала, Limbo Emulator — основанный на QEMU эмулятор для Android, Podman для запуска контейнера с Alpine Linux.
Из отдельных возможностей: проброс портов из контейнера на реальную Android-систему через SSH.
Приложение для своей работы требует Android 9+ arm64.
Исходный код распространяется по лицензии GNU GPL v2

5 критических уязвимостей в Chrome. Оценка работающих в Chrome методов скрытой идентификации

Компания Google сформировала обновление Chrome 147.0.7727.101 с исправлением 31 уязвимости, из которых 5 помечены как критические. Критические проблемы позволяют обойти все уровни защиты браузера и выполнить код в системе за пределами sandbox-окружения. Детали пока не раскрываются, известно лишь, что уязвимости вызваны выходом за границы буфера в прослойке ANGLE (трансляция вызовов OpenGL ES в другие графические API) и библиотеке Skia (отрисовка 2D-графики), а также обращениями к уже освобождённой памяти (Use-after-free) в механизме упреждающей отрисовки (Prerender), компонентах для виртуальной реальности (XR) и реализации Proxy-объектов.

Документ предложен сторонней компаний One Limited, создан вне процесса стандартизации IETF и имеет статус "Internet-Draft" (любой при соблюдении формальностей может опубликовать подобный черновик). Протокол IPv8 примечателен использованием локально кэшируемых JWT-токенов OAuth2 для аутентификации элементов в сетях и верификацией каждого устанавливаемого исходящего соединения через запрос в DNS8 (без обращения к DNS8 не создаётся запись в таблице состояния XLATE8 (подобие NAT) и соединение блокируется).

В ядре Linux 7.1 начали удаление поддержки процессоров Baikal

Линус Торвальдс принял в состав ядра Linux 7.1 изменения, удаляющие поддержку контроллеров AHCI SATA и PCIe, применяемых в SoC Baikal-T1. Помимо этого на рассмотрении находятся pull-запросы на удаление связанных с Baikal драйверов таймера, памяти, physmap, шины, hwmon и bt1-rom. В качестве причины удаления упоминается отсутствие сопровождения и незавершённая интеграция в состав ядра компонентов платформы Baikal. Например, отмечается, что драйвер PCIe так и не был доведён до полностью работоспособного состояния.

Linux Mint’s next release won’t be until Christmas 2026

Linux Mint has confirmed it is switching to a longer development cycle, in order to give the team more time to ‘fix bugs and improve the desktop’. As a result, the Linux Mint 23 release is now slated to launch in December 2026. It will, among other planned changes, use the same installer as LMDE (Linux Mint Debian Edition) as this offers better OEM install, SecureBoot and LVM/LUKS support.
