Bikes
Harley-Davidson WLA | USA | 🇺🇸, 1944.
In 1939, Harley-Davidson Motors Co. produced a military version of the WL model, the Harley-Davidson WLA, specifically designed for the US military. Although the rival Indian Motorcycle Co. also supplied motorbikes to the military during the war, it was the Harley-Davidson WLA that was actively used in the war effort.
The Harley-Davidson WLA motorbike was equipped with a 2-cylinder, V-shaped, bottom-valve engine with a working volume of 739 cubic centimetres and a maximum power of 23 hp at 4500 rpm, 3-speed gearbox and special equipment for military use (ammunition box, mount for Thompson machine gun).
