Audiatur et altera pars
Allied crimes after WWII
Allied censorship of Germany is based on Control Council Order No. 4 ("Confiscation of Literature and Works of a National Socialist and Militaristic Character") of May 13, 1946, issued by the Four Powers to effectively carry out the re-education of Germans. It began with the list of literature to be segregated, initially drawn up for the then Soviet Occupation Zone and later adopted by the three western occupation zones.
The latter represented the largest book destruction of all time, with the aim of erasing German cultural heritage and completely annihilating the collective memory of the Germans by Allied occupation troops.
