"I don't know what's funnier," I said, "You being the only one who can oppose your own statements, or you somehow still managing to point out how slow I am while doing it?" I threw my hands up comically in despair. She was so happy. We were so happy. I wanted to tell her that nature's changing course isn't the only constant. I wanted to point out that my happiness depending on hers will also remain a constant. That my happiness will forever spurt out of her smile. Even if all else changes. Even if she changes. Even if we change. Because everything changes but change, and her smile.
