wrote a little cute poem. wait a minute will send
“Oh, and here we go again,”
She said, with a deep sigh,
As he pulled his cap high
To greet a bunch of men
In this busy bazaar on his way.
“He knows half the city, I swear,”
She mumbled.
Yet one could see her smile,
Her quiet smile
That gives her away every time.
He stops at a stall with no warning at all,
“Hold on, these peaches are the best, I hear,”
As the seller cuts one open right there.
Juice on the fingers, he hands it to her,
She bites with no word, face giving nothing away,
Though she surely wanted one before.
Hands him back the rest, keeps walking, unswayed.
A kid on a bike dashes by, clipping her sleeve,
He yanks her back by the hand,
“Careful, please,”
He says, just moving on with his walk,
While she cleans her dress from the sand.
Nice to everyone, as always,
She counts it off in her head to prove the point,
Not just to her, to strangers, to strays,
To the vendor he overpays with no fail,
And to stray cats lying by guardrails.
She catches herself mid-stare
But shakes it off, pretends not to care.
Fixes her hair, keeps up with his pace,
Refusing to even look at his face.
On the way past the spice sacks, cumin and dust,
An old woman selling sweets looks them over,
“How long have you two been married, then?”
She nearly drops her purse, all fussed,
“NO. We’re siblings. Him? Of all men?”
Oh, way too fast.
She said it too fast.
The woman just laughs with a small frown,
Unconvinced.
He says nothing, just smiles at the ground,
Buys the sweet anyway without a wince,
"For my sister," he says, not letting it pass.
She ignores the joke, just looking around.
She doesn't say her thoughts aloud,
Just walking now little closer through the crowd.

Что за необычное здание строится в IT Park
На территории IT Park в Ташкенте сейчас возводится здание, отличающееся от соседних: там почти не будет окон.
Так и должно быть, ведь это TAS-1, который станет одним из первых «зелёных» дата-центров Центральной Азии.
Узбекистану он нужен для нового рывка.
⏺ Во время первого экспорт IT-услуг вырос с $1 млн до почти $1 млрд. В основном за счёт аутсорсинга.
⏺ Во время второго планируется выйти на $5 млрд к 2030 году. Одного аутсорсинга уже мало, пора делать более сложные продукты.
Для этого нужна соответствующая инфраструктура.
Узбекистан искал инвестора под эту задачу и нашёл DataVolt — «дочку» саудовского холдинга Vision Invest, чьи проекты оцениваются в $95 млрд.
Компания получила участок на территории IT Park, и сейчас там вовсю идёт стройка. Ожидается, что запустятся уже в декабре.
Это будут 12 МВт с жидкостным охлаждением, резервированием и готовностью к AI-нагрузкам.
Они дадут рынку больше возможностей: в Узбекистан смогут заходить новые IT-компании, местные команды смогут брать более сложные проекты, а вокруг этого будут расти рабочие места, приток долларов, компетенции и всё остальное.
Поэтому мощности будут общедоступными — их смогут арендовать частные компании, государственные организации, стартапы…
То есть это инфраструктура для всего рынка. Спрос высокий, вон Beeline уже быстренько забронировал себе место одного из арендаторов.
Вообще, в ближайшие годы планируется довести аж до 500 МВт, но для этого сначала нужен успешный пример, который покажет, что всё работает, всё реально.
Это и делает TAS-1 одним из важнейших инфраструктурных проектов этого года.

this week's oil story is honestly a pretty good crash course in why im even interested in this.
Iran hit a tanker near the strait of Hormuz on tuesday and the ceasefire that was already shaky got a lot shakier. brent jumped 3% to $74 a barrel, wti followed to $70. that strait alone carries about 1/5 of the world's oil.
but the thing is. this ripples way outside the middle east.
Russia's been dealing with its own fuel crisis since Ukraine started hammering its refineries with drones, over half of Russia's big refineries have taken damage since last year and gasoline output is down 17%. Moscow banned gasoline exports through the end of july and just tacked diesel onto that ban too.
so Kyrgyzstan, a country with basically zero oil of its own that's leaned on Russia for fuel forever, suddenly had to go scrambling to China and Belarus for supply. the new deals exist now but they're pricier and thinner than what Russia used to offer. Uzbekistan's managing it a bit better, still relying on Russia but working alternative supply lines and building up reserves so it doesn't get caught the same way.
that's the whole mechanism with energy. a drone over Ukraine or a tanker near Iran, it all moves further through refineries, then through countries with no oil at all, then into inflation numbers, then into what central banks do with rates, then into whatever's sitting in your portfolio whether you're watching or not.
which is why its fun to understand this stuff instead of just watching numbers go up and down lol.
