Sumak Kawsay is a lifestyle and is sustained by 4 principles:
1) JATUN MUSKUY or the beautiful sharing: the manifestation of the collective dream and individual dream. We come into this life to share our dreams.
2) JAMPI KAWSAY life is medicine: everything is medicine and health is the main thing. You are medicine and everything that is around us is to help heal.
3) TUKUY YACHAY or everything is wisdom: we appreciate everything that is around us because everything has wisdom. This awareness leads us to maintain a lifestyle close to nature because it keeps the living memory of ancient wisdom.
4) PACHAMAMA or the time of the mother: we are all living in this time next to and with our Mother. We recognize ourselves as children of our Mother Earth and in how many children we are brothers of all that inhabits her. We are brothers of nature.
Good living practices consider the human being as part of a supreme organism: our planet Earth. The protection of the environment is equivalent to the care of life: the survival and well-being of society are possible thanks to the contributions that nature makes us and, therefore, in the search for prosperity we must relate carefully and respectfully with our ecological environment.
There can be no growth or health practices at the expense of the environment, and the environment cannot be managed by ignoring our people and our economies. Through the honoring and respect for all of these spiritual and religious belief systems, the way-of-live teachings, and their customs and practices, the Church has come to embrace a common set of beliefs regarding human life, nature, and the universe.

Wishing today the whole community a happy day in which we can celebrate together with the great Mother who nourishes and supports everyone. This photo from the Ecuadorian ministry of the environment asks us: "What are you doing for the Earth?"

enjoy this study and article on the evidence how medicine plant tradition and correct use of substances are a way of life that have a positive influence on our health behaviours.

Therapeutic models including psychedelic experiences and common behaviour change methods (e.g., Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing) are already being tested for addiction and eating disorders…

Ancient rituals, plant medicines, Mystical experiences. In this episode of Dr. Lynn Marie Morsky podcast Dr. Sam Gandy tells us how necessary is to consider the value of mystical experiences in our lives.
Dr. Gandy begins this conversation by defining the topic of mystical experiences. He explains that while there are a number of competing terms for how to best address this subject, what is important is that the research has consistently shown that these types of experiences are closely correlated with beneficial therapeutic outcomes. Whether brought on by psychedelics or not, mystical experiences tend to produce positive psychological changes, so it is important for psychedelic researchers to take this topic seriously and thoroughly investigate these experiences and where they come from.

SUMAK KAWSAY means GOOD LIFE!
We practice ancient ways of life and religious beliefs. Nowadays with an open heart and mind, we listen to the voice of our elders and apply it to modern science.
FROM EGOISM TO ECOISM
Keywords: nature relatedness; mental health; well-being; psychedelics; set and setting; acute effects; ego-dissolution; nature exposure

…Humans appear to be becoming ever more disconnected from the natural world, and this sense of disconnection is linked to poor mental health…
…Considering the global burden of mental health problems, depression being the leading cause of disability worldwide….
…A recent large-scale (N = 19,806) UK population study found that regular contact with nature is associated with good physical health and high subjective well-being, with a minimum time of 120 min per week of nature exposure being optimal for good health…
…experiences in natural settings can foster an empathic connection to nature and the humble positioning of one’s self within it, which is less likely to apply to man-made environments. This idea resonates with the frequency of reports of “profound levels of identification or merging with the natural world” during psychedelic experiences…
…In one of the few existing empirical studies on the relationship between psychedelics and nature relatedness in healthy individuals, Nour and colleagues reported that lifetime psychedelic use (but not use of the other substances examined) was predictive of higher ratings on the personality traits of openness, liberal political views, and also nature relatedness. These three factors were also found to be predicted positively by experiences of ego-dissolution during people’s most intense psychedelic experience, pointing towards a potential mediational role for the acute psychedelic experience—not only for clinical responses, but also for changes in nature relatedness

"SB 58 (Senate Bill 58) would allow only plant-based hallucinogens, such as psilocybin, the active ingredient in “magic mushrooms,” and dimethyltryptamine, or DMT, which is found in some plants used to brew ayahuasca. Other naturally occurring psychedelics that would be allowed under the bill include ibogaine, a psychoactive alkaloid found in the iboga shrub, and mescaline found in cacti 🌵 other than peyote."
