Every time time your past sins come back to haunt you, and the shame that is still lingering from your mistakes overtakes you, and the shaytans whispers taunt you, remember the words of our beloved Prophet ﷺ
The one who repents from sin is like the one who did not sin.
And this is enough of an honour and praise for you, oh slave of Allah.

“If you love Allāh, the Mighty and Sublime, you will indeed long for what is with Him, and you will draw nearer to Him, and seek the means to draw nearer to Him. When you revere Him, you will fear Him. Whenever you want to commit acts of disobedience, you will promptly sense the greatness of the Creator, the Mighty and Sublime, and flee from it.”

Whoever senses a deficiency (shortage) ‘
in his speech,
his actions,
his general state,
his provisions,

upon him is Tawheed and

for the cure is within them (i.e., in Tawheed and Istighfar), if they are held onto with truthfulness and sincerity.
