The one who sins, but knows it is a sin and does not justify his sin - there is hope for this person, and there is room in his heart for change and rectification. However the one who sins, and justifies his sin, and mocks the people who advise, and finds verdicts and misunderstood evidences to support his doing of this sin, not only is he now falling into a greater sin but he is walking upon a treacherous path being paved by the cursed shaytan.

As it’s been mentioned,

If the love of sin settles in the heart, the soul searches for reasons for its permissibility.

So if you see yourself trying to justify your sin, not accepting advice and evidences then fear that your heart hardens and that you turn away from the truth due to your desires, and there has only ever been 2 main things to cause a person to become misguided; desires and doubts.

By Allah that you sin, and sin again, and again, and again but you are aware that this is a sin, and you feel shame for this sin, and that you repent for this sin - will always and forever be better than the one who sins yet to divert criticism and accountability he justifies his sin and aids the shaytan in his plot without even realising. It is better that when a person advises you, understanding it is wrong but humbly admitting your weakness to yourself and hoping to change, rather than haughtily mocking your adviser, or proclaiming your innocence, or trying to create your own proofs and understanding as to why you are allowed to engage in this sin.

We ask Allah for steadfastness and understanding.

Say: The Quran isn’t from one of my (main) priorities.

Every time time your past sins come back to haunt you, and the shame that is still lingering from your mistakes overtakes you, and the shaytans whispers taunt you, remember the words of our beloved Prophet ﷺ

The one who repents from sin is like the one who did not sin.

And this is enough of an honour and praise for you, oh slave of Allah.

“If you love Allāh, the Mighty and Sublime, you will indeed long for what is with Him, and you will draw nearer to Him, and seek the means to draw nearer to Him. When you revere Him, you will fear Him. Whenever you want to commit acts of disobedience, you will promptly sense the greatness of the Creator, the Mighty and Sublime, and flee from it.”

‎"Four things bring about provisions (from Allāh):

‎-The night prayer.
‎-Seeking forgiveness abundantly before Fajr.
‎-Committing to giving charity.
‎- Remembrance of Allāh at the beginning and ending of the day."

‎[Zād Al-Ma'ād 4/378]

Shaykh 'Abdul-'Aziz ibn 'Abdullah ibn Baaz رحمه الله تعالى ورحمة واسعة said:

Time is life. Those who waste their time are actually wasting their lives; and those who waste their lives will be full of regret when it will be too late and will wish that they could turn back again to the worldly life to act rightly.

Majmoo ’al-Fataawa Ibn Baaz, Vol.16; pp. 261 - 262
Imām Ahmad رحمه الله was asked:

What does it mean to love for the sake of Allāh?

He replied:
“It is when you do not love someone for his worldly gains!”
