فإنَّ الله سبحانه إِذا أحبَّ عبدا استعمله في الأوقات الفاضلة بفواضل الأعمال، وإذا مقته استعمله في الأوقات الفاضلة بسيء الأعمال، ليكون ذلك أوجع في عقابه وأشد لمقته؛ لحرمانه بركة الوقت، وانتهاكه حرمة الوقت.

"Indeed, when Allah (Glorified be He) loves a servant, He employs them during virtuous times with the most virtuous of deeds. And when He detests a servant, He employs them during virtuous times with evil deeds, so that it may make their punishment more painful and His detestation more severe—due to them being deprived of the blessing of time, and for violating the sanctity of time."

اتقِ الله أنت في الأشهر الحرم.

"Fear Allah, for you are in the Sacred Months."

‘Do not let these days come and go like ordinary days. Perhaps this Dhul Hijjah will be the one that changes your relationship with the Quran forever.’

In this life, a person goes through three different situations:

1. Continuous blessings and gifts that Allah gives to him. These blessings require us to thank Allah for His kindness.

2. Hardships and trials that Allah decides and writes for him. A person must face these with patience, trusting that Allah will reward him and give him something better.

3. Sins and mistakes that he makes, and times when he falls short in his duties to Allah. These require him to turn back to Allah and ask for His forgiveness.

A Quote from Ibn al-Qayyim

Scholar Ibn al-Qayyim said:

"These three situations are the secret to a person's happiness and success in this life and the next. A person is always moving from one of these three situations to another."

الله أكبر الله أكبر الله أكبر لا إله إلا الله
الله أكبر الله أكبر ولله الحمد الله أكبر كبيرًا
الحمد لله كثيرًا وسبحان الله بكرةً وأصيلاً

إِذا كُنتَ في نِعمَةٍ فَاِرعَها
فَإِنَّ المَعاصي تُزيلُ النِعَم

If you are blessed with a bounty, then cherish and care for it,
For indeed, sins and transgressions strip blessings away.

وَحافِظ عَلَيها بِتَقوى الإِلَهِ
فَإِنَّ الإِلَهَ سَريعُ النِّقَم

And safeguard it through the mindfulness and fear of Allah,
For indeed, Allah can be swift in His punishment.

فَإِن تَعطِ نَفسَكَ آمالَها
فَعِندَ مُناها يَحِلُّ النَدَم

For if you grant your soul everything it desires,
Then at the fulfillment of its whims, regret will surely settle in.

اللهُ أكبر اللهُ أكبر اللهُ أكبر
لا إله إلّا الله
اللهُ أكبر اللهُ أكبر، ولله الحمد

سبحان الله، والحمدُ لله، ولا إله إلا اللهُ، واللهُ أكبرُ، ولا حولَ ولا قوةَ إلا بالله.

سبحان الله وبحمده، سبحان الله العظيم .
لا إله إلا أنت سبحانك إني كنت من الظالمين .

May it be accepted on the Arafah, and may we be healed on the Arafah.

~ Don't forget to make a list of all of which you want to supplicate and ask your lord for the best of the day is arriving soon. May Allah allow us to reach Arafa.

A'ta رحمه الله said :

"If you are able to seclude yourself on the afternoon of the day of a'rafa ,then do so."

(Az Zahd imam ahmad 2221)

عَن حُذَيفةَ، قال: يا مَعشَرَ القُرَّاءِ، استَقيموا فقد سَبَقتُم سَبقًا بَعيدًا، فإن أخَذتُم يَمينًا وشِمالًا لقد ضَلَلتُم ضَلالًا بَعيدًا

صحيح البخاري 7282

“O people of knowledge (Qur’an readers/scholars), remain steadfast upon the straight path. For indeed, you have gone far ahead (in goodness). But if you turn to the right or the left (deviate from the truth), then you will surely go far astray.”

Sahaba رضي الله عنهم used to advise people with sincere counsel and guide them toward what was good for their worldly life and Hereafter.

In this narration, Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman رضي الله عنه gives advice to the Qurra’ (those knowledgeable in the Qur’an and Sunnah), saying:

“Remain steadfast” — meaning: stay firm upon the path of righteousness, hold firmly to Allah’s commands, and follow the Sunnah of Rasoolullah ﷺ in both actions and abstaining from what he avoided.

If you remain steadfast, you will move ahead of others in goodness. Another narration suggests:

“You have already been preceded,” meaning earlier righteous generations went far ahead, and perhaps by following their path, you may catch up with them.

However: “If you turn right or left” — meaning if you leave the straight path and choose other ways — then: “You will have gone far astray.”

This statement reflects the meaning of the Qur’an

“And this is My straight path, so follow it; and do not follow other paths, lest they separate you from His path.”
[الأنعام 153]

This hadith indicates the virtue and excellence of the earliest predecessors among the Muhajirun and Ansar, who remained steadfast upon the straight path. Some were martyred in the presence of Rasoolullah ﷺ, while others lived after him upon his way, and were either martyred later or died peacefully in their beds while remaining firm upon righteousness. It also shows the importance and legitimacy of people of virtue and knowledge advising one another, encouraging obedience to Allah and warning against misguidance and deviation..

وَيَسْتَجِيبُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَيَزِيدُهُم مِّن فَضْلِهِ (الشورى ٢٦)

And He answers (the supplication of) those who believe and do righteous deeds, and increases them out of His bounty.

كلما زاد ايمانك اسرعت اجابتك

The stronger your faith becomes, the quicker your answer (to supplication) comes.

حقيقة عميقة. الإيمان الحقيقي يورث اليقين والرضا، ومع كل خطوة تقترب فيها من الله بصدق، تتسع بصيرتك وتطمئن نفسك؛ فتشعر وكأن الإجابة قد لُبّيت قبل أن تطلبها، أو أنك استقبلت تأخرها بقبول وراحة.

This is a deeply profound truth. True faith brings certainty and contentment, and with every sincere step you take toward ALLAH, your insight expands and your soul becomes more at peace. Then it feels as if the Duaa has been granted before you even asked for it, or that you have accepted its delay with comfort and peace.

كيف ترتبط سرعة الإجابة بقوة الإيمان؟

اليقين وحسن الظن: الإيمان يجعلك تدعو وأنت واثق في الإجابة، كما قال النبي ﷺ: (ادعوا الله وأنتم موقنون بالإجابة).

How quickly of an answer connected to the strength of faith?

Certainty and positive expectation:
Faith leads you to make duaa while being confident in Allah’s response, as Rasoolullah ﷺ said: (Call upon Allah while being certain of the response.)

معنى الاستجابة: الاستجابة قد تكون تحقيقاً لما طلبت، أو دفعاً لشر، أو ادخاراً للأجر في الآخرة، والمؤمن يدرك هذا بوضوح.

The meaning of response: A response may come in the form of receiving what you asked for, being protected from harm, or having the reward stored for the Hereafter. A believer understands this clearly.

الرضا والسكينة: كلما زاد الإيمان، زاد الرضا بما قسمه الله، فتتحول "المسألة" إلى تسليم تام بأن اختيار الله لك هو الخير المطلق

Contentment and inner peace: The stronger the faith, the greater the contentment with what Allah has decreed. Then the “matter” turns into complete surrender, trusting that Allah’s choice for you is the absolute good.

10 Virtues of Yawm al Arafa
Based on the lecture notes of Sheikh Hasan al Bukhari

1. Greatness of the Divine Oath
  
Allah swears by this day in the Quran (Surah Al Buruj and Surah Al Fajr).

   Allah only swears by things that are immense in status.

2. The Pinnacle of the 10 Best Days

   It falls on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah.

   It is the most virtuous day out of the ten best days of the entire year.

3. Completion of the Deen and The Double Eid

   The verse announcing the perfection of Islam (Surah Al Ma'idah: 3) was revealed on this day.

   The Jewish Context: A Jewish companion noted that if this verse were revealed to them, they would make it an Eid (celebration). Umar (RA) responded that it was already a double Eid for us (falling on Arafah and a Friday). Non pilgrims honor this by fasting.

4. The Foundation of Hajj
   It is the specific day when the manasik (core rites) of Hajj take place.

   The Prophet declared: "Hajj is Arafah."

5. Maximum Emancipation from Hellfire

   The greatest day on Earth for freedom from the Fire.

   No other day in the calendar sees more servants freed from Hellfire by Allah than this day.

6. The Ultimate Day of Dua

   The Prophet declared: "The best dua is the dua of Arafah."
   It is a critical window for all "the waiting ones" to ask Allah for their deepest needs.

7. Actions: Pilgrims vs. Non Pilgrims

   For Hajjis: Complete their arkaan (pillars) without fasting to maintain physical strength.

   For Non Hajjis: Fasting is highly recommended, as it expiates sins for two full years (the past and upcoming year).

8. Total Forgiveness of Sins

   A day dedicated entirely to focusing on Allah, triggering mass forgiveness.

   Sincere Hajjis return completely purified of sins, like newborn babies.

9. Humiliation of Shaitan and Spiritual Joy

   A day of massive spiritual happiness and divine fadl (grace).

   Shaitan is never seen more humiliated, defeated, or small than on this day due to the downpour of Allah's mercy.

10. Annual Gift: Heavy Focus on Tawheed

   This specific window opens only once a year.

   The primary action is to repeat the Kalimah of Tawheed abundantly:

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

"Prepare yourself for the Day of Arafah. Prepare and soften your heart so that your supplication springs from a present mind.

Then, when the Day of Arafah arrives:

First, maximize your hope in Allah and never despair. Allah is as His servant expects Him to be. Think the absolute best of your Lord.
Think the absolute best of your Lord! This is a momentous day in which Allah forgives sins.

Second, when you pray, observe the etiquettes of supplication (Du'a):

Offer a charity before you begin your prayer.

Perform ablution (Wudu).

Face the direction of the Qiblah.

Raise your hands.

Prolong, prolong, and prolong your praise of Allah, for Allah loves to be praised. And there is no one who loves praise more than Allah, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stated in an authentic narration. And He is the One truly worthy of praise. By Allah, no matter what human beings do for you, their praise is merely a reflection of Allah's praise. Had Allah not facilitated it for you, so-and-so would never have been able to benefit you.
So, prolong your praise and glorification of Allah.

As the poem goes:
'Should I mention my need, or has Your generosity already sufficed me? Truly, Your nature is pure generosity.'

'If a person praises You one day, Your blessings suffice him, sparing him from even having to ask.'

Even if your entire supplication from beginning to end was nothing but praising Allah, it would be sufficient for you.

After that, say whatever is in your heart. Keep in mind the closeness of Allah and how He draws near to His servants on that day. Remember that He sees you all, hears your words, and loves you. He loves for you to ask—for if He did not love you..."
