The Most Merciful does not torment the one who seeks forgiveness

And whose tongue, with the remembrance, is purer than musk

So seek forgiveness—for sins are deadly (to the heart)

And the verses are a reminder for the one who seeks insight
And they used to encourage one another during hardships.

Indeed, it is only a few short days — and the promised meeting is in Paradise.

English Translation:

O Allah, I am Your servant, the son of Your servant, the son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever executed, and Your decree over me is just.

I ask You by every name belonging to You, which You have named Yourself with, revealed in Your Book, taught to any of Your creation, or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen with You, to make the Qur’an the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the remover of my sadness, and the reliever of my distress.

O Allah, remind me of what I have forgotten from it, teach me from it what I am ignorant of, grant me its recitation during the hours of the night and the ends of the day, and make it an argument in my favour, O Lord of the Worlds.

“If you are pleased, you are pleased — and Allah’s command will still come to pass. And if you are displeased, you are tested/afflicted — and Allah’s command will still come to pass.”
"A person should recognize the honor of his time and the value of his moments, and should not waste even a single instant on anything other than drawing nearer to Allah. He should prioritize the best, then the next best, in both speech and action.

His intention for goodness should remain constant, without fatigue, even if his body is unable to carry it out—just as the hadith says:

'The intention of the believer is better than his action.'"

— Ibn al-Jawzi
Ṣayd al-Khāṭir, p. 63
Sahl ibn ‘Abdullah al-Tustari said to one of his students:

“Do you memorize the Qur’an?”

The student replied, “No.”

He (Sahl) said: “Alas! A believer who does not memorize the Qur’an!
Then with what does he recite(in devotion)?
With what does he find delight?
With what does he privately converse with his Lord?”

- Ḥilyat al-Awliyā’, 10/343

How often He has enveloped us in His kindness during our staying and our going, and has cared for us with His care in both our heedlessness and our awareness, and He has showered us with His bounty without us even asking.

"Every supplicant is answered, but the response varies: at times it comes exactly as he prayed for, and at times it comes in another form as compensation."

The Prophet ﷺ said:

Whoever is inspired with five things will not be deprived of five things:

1. Whoever is inspired to supplicate (make duʿāʾ), will not be denied a response, for Allah says:

"Call upon Me; I will respond to you."
(Qur'an 40:60)

2. Whoever is inspired to repent, will not be denied acceptance, for Allah says:

"And He is the One who accepts repentance from His servants."
(Qur'an 42:25)

3. Whoever is inspired to be grateful, will not be denied increase, for Allah says:

"If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]."
(Qur'an 14:7)

4. Whoever is inspired to seek forgiveness, will not be denied forgiveness, for Allah says:

"Seek forgiveness from your Lord; indeed, He is ever Forgiving."
(Qur'an 71:10)

5. Whoever is inspired to give in charity, will not be denied compensation, for Allah says:

"And whatever you spend of anything [in Allah's cause]—He will replace it."
(Qur'an 34:39)

Keep praying, even if all the doors seem closed, the circumstances are difficult, and all ways point to the opposite of what we hope for — because we are fully certain that Allah will make everything right at the right time, and because we believe in Allah and His divine planning.

Pray to Allah as if you see the light of the answer.

It is upon us to choose spouses who fear Allāh, love their dīn, and have a thirst for ‘ilm.

For they will be the fathers of our children — and do we not wish for our offspring to grow upon righteousness and piety?

Remember, the seeds you plant in your home today will grow into the generation you leave behind tomorrow. Choose wisely, for the father shapes the future.
Allah’s words:

“And do not despair of the relief from Allah”
— there are three interpretations:

From the mercy of Allah,
as said by Ibn ʿAbbās and al-Ḍaḥḥāk.

From the deliverance (relief) of Allah, as said by Ibn Zayd.

From the expansion (ease) granted by Allah, as reported by Ibn al-Qāsim.

Al-Aṣmaʿī said: “al-Rawḥ” means relief from the distress of the heart.

And the scholars of meaning (linguistic scholars) said:

“Do not despair of the ‘rawḥ’ that comes from Allah.”

“Indeed, no one despairs of Allah’s relief except the disbelieving people,” because the believer always has hope in Allah during times of hardship.
