"If You did not intend for me to attain that which I hope and ask of You,

then You would not have accustomed me to ask it from the generosity of Your hand."

And let no one be disheartened by outward appearances, for Allah—glorified be He—deals with His servant in a manner unlike any other; just as nothing resembles Him in His attributes, nothing resembles Him in His actions.

He only withholds to give.
He only afflicts with illness to heal.
He only impoverishes to enrich.
He only causes death to grant life.

And He only expelled Adam and his wife from Paradise to return them to it in a more perfect state. As He said:

"O Adam, do not be distressed by My saying to you: 'Depart from it'—for it is for you that I created it, and to it I shall return you."

Thus, the Lord—exalted be He—grants favor through trials, gives through deprivation, and accompanies His servant even in sickness.
So a servant should never feel lonely or despondent over any unpleasant condition—except if that condition incurs Allah's anger or leads to distance from Him.

Shaykh Raslan

You are the one to blame! If you are afflicted with something you dislike, then do not blame anyone but yourself.

The morning and evening adhkār — for example — are more important than the breath, and they should be a law that is adhered to; more important than the breath!

Beware that you neglect them, or else you have entered the battle without a weapon; you have exposed your chest and made yourself a target for an enemy who will not show you mercy
.
- Every haram relationship is forbidden, even if you share the night standing and in prostration, even if it wakes you up for the Fajr prayer.
- Even if you get married, that sin will remain on you, if you do not ask Allah for forgiveness.
A relationship whose beginning does not please Allah, the Almighty, and its end will not please its owner.
- Cut the relationship, it's a disability, a disability of the heart if it attaches to someone else.

To my Lord, and none but Him I seek,
I extend my hands, hoping for His pleasure.
Generous is He—never turning away a servant's plea,
Nor withholding His gifts from those who hope in Him.

To You alone I bring my complaints, not away from You, my Lord.
You are sufficient for me against the trials of time.
You quench my thirst, mend my state, calm my fears, and relieve my distress.
Whoever wishes for their heart to be filled with the Oneness of Allah, and with true faith in Him — and seeks to have firm, unwavering certainty in the existence of Allah, His Lordship, His Names and Attributes — let them reflect deeply upon the Qur’an.

🔖 To the One Who Memorizes the Qur’an

Rejoice, O you who are learning the Book of Allah and placing it in your heart. Expect goodness and remain firm upon what you are doing, for it is a blessing from Allah, the Almighty. No one will truly memorize the Qur’an unless they devote a great deal of time, effort, and thought. Whoever does so is deserving of honor, for he carries with him a certificate of reverence — the memorization of the Book of Allah. And honoring him is part of honoring Allah…
(Among the Beneficial Methods for Memorizing the Qur’an)

Whoever is seeking an effective method for memorizing the Qur’an, then here is a tried and tested method—especially effective with children, and all the more so achievable for adults, by the will of Allah:

Set aside five days a week for memorization, and reserve the remaining days for revision.

Allocate one page per day to memorize—this is for beginners. Once accustomed, one may increase as Allah wills.

When you begin memorizing, open the Mushaf and start memorizing the page. Once you have mastered it, close the Mushaf and repeat it from memory twenty times. Live the sweetness of reciting that page by heart. Continue with this method, and memorization of the Qur’an will open up for you, by Allah’s permission.

The Day of Ashura: A small amount of effort for a huge reward of forgiveness.
« يوم عاشوراء تذكير بالفرج بعد الشدة،
واليسر بعد العسر، والنصر بعد أن بلغت القلوب الحناجر، وظن الناس بالله الظنون . »

The Day of Ashura is a reminder of relief after hardship, ease after difficulty, and victory after hearts had reached their throats and people had started to assume the worst about Allah.

Who are those whose hearts are humbled/ Al Mukhbiteen?

Al-Kalbī said: “So their hearts humble themselves (tukhbit) to Him,” meaning: their hearts become tender and receptive to the Qur’an.

Allah, Exalted is He, has clarified the reality of khushūʿ (humility) and described the humble (mukhbitīn) in His saying:

{ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُخْبِتِينَ الَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ اللَّهُ وَجِلَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَالصَّبِرِينَ عَلَى مَا أَصَابَهُمْ وَالْمُقِيمِي الصَّلَاةِ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ﴾
“And give glad tidings to the humble — those whose hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned, who are patient over whatever befalls them, who establish the prayer, and who spend from what We have provided them.”

He thus mentioned four qualities of the humble:

والوجل : خوف مقرون بهيبة ومحبة،
Their hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned — and this trembling (wajl) is a fear mixed with awe and love.

Their patience with Allah’s decrees.

Their proper establishment of prayer — upholding both its outward and inward pillars.

Their kindness to Allah’s creation — by spending from what He has given them. And this [state] is only attainable by a heart that is truly humble (mukhbit).

Ibn ʿAbbās said: “The humble (al-mukhbitīn) are the humble and modest ones.”

Mujāhid said: “Those who are at peace with Allah.”

Al-Akhfash said: “Those who are submissive.”

Ibn Jarīr said: “Those who are obedient and yielding.”

Rest asured:

There are no disappointments in prayers.

Either it is answered, or harm is repelled, or a reward is reserved.
One of the early pious predecessors said:

"عجبًا لمن يتقي حرَّ صيف الدنيا، كيف لا يتقي باجتناب الذنوب والمعاصي حرَّ جهنم."
"How strange it is that someone protects themselves from the heat of the worldly summer, yet does not protect themselves from the heat of Hell by avoiding sins and disobedience."
"ما ذُكرَ الله على صَعبٍ إلَّا هَان، ولا على مَشَقَّةٍ إلَّا خَفَّت، ولا على شِدَّةٍ إلَّا زَالَت، ولا كُربَةٍ إلَّا انفَرَجَت."

"The remembrance of Allah makes every hardship easy, every difficulty lighter, every distress disappear, and every worry relieved."
The Month of Allah, Al-Muharram

The Second Group: A group that has taken ‘Ashura as a day of mourning, grief, and lamentation due to the killing of Al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali. They display symbols of the pre-Islamic era of ignorance, such as striking the cheeks, tearing the clothes, and reciting poems of sorrow.

It was narrated from Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"He is not one of us who strikes the cheeks, tears the clothes, and calls with the calls of the Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic era of ignorance)."
Narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim

And it was narrated from Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"There are two practices among the people that are acts of disbelief: attacking lineage and wailing over the dead."
Narrated by Muslim

Imam al-Nawawi, may Allah have mercy on him, said:
"These are among the actions of the disbelievers and the morals of the Jahiliyyah."
Al-Minhaj Sharh Sahih Muslim
