qārī: ʿabd Allāh ʿawād al-juhanī
from fajr of the ninth day of rajab, 1441 [hijrī]
Narrated Nafi' :
Ibn 'Umar never used to take his meal unless a poor man was called to eat with him.
One day I brought a poor man to eat with him, the man ate too much, whereupon Ibn 'Umar said, "O Nafi ! Don't let this man enter my house, for heard the Prophet saying,
"A believer eats in one intestine (is satisfied with a little food), and a kafir (unbeliever) eats in seven intestines (eats much food)."
(Sahih Bukharl Book: 70, Hadith: 54478)

If you try to count the blessings of Allah without thanking Him you cannot count them all, let alone give proper thanks, for His blessings to His slaves, both apparent and hidden, are as many as the breaths they take and the moments that pass.
This applies to all kinds of blessings, both those of which people are aware and those of which they are not aware, which includes what He wards off from them of calamity. The blessings are more than can be counted.
Verily Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful for He is pleased with a little thanks from you, even though His blessings are so many. As it is the case that His mercy is vast, His generosity extends to all and His forgiveness is available to all, so His knowledge encompasses them all.

"فذكر بالقران من يخاف وعيد"
"But admonish with the Qur'an those who fear My warning."
Admonishing means to remind of something that is already instilled in people's minds and sound nature of loving good, giving it precedence and doing it, and of hating evil and avoiding it. Those who benefit from the admonition are those who fear the warning of Allah.
As for those who do not fear the warning and do not believe in it, the benefit of the admonition in his case is the establishing of proof against him (and leaving him with no excuse).

The reason for eloquence constituting sorcery is that:
It arrests the attention of the listener and makes him change or become inclined towards (particular opinion). As such, the listener considers wrong as right due to the powerful influence of the words of the speaker; so he becomes inclined to it. Consequently, someone would come and begin to give a baseless and meaningless speech but due to his eloquence and fluency, the listener takes it as right and begins to give preference to it; likewise, when a powerful eloquent person speaks, warning against the truth; due to his eloquence and fluency, the listener may think that this truth is baseless thereby turning away from it! This is among the forms of sorcery called 'Atf (inclination) and Sarf (avoidance) which could be brought about by eloquence.
(qawl Al mufeed sharh Kitab at tawheed)

Therefore, Bayaan in the real sense means Fasaahah (eloquence) and it undoubtedly has the effects of sorcery. Thus, regarding the hoors Ibn Qayyim would say: Her words are lawful charms.
His saying: "Certainly, some eloquence constitute sorcery",
does this indicate dispraise or commendation or it only states the reality whose end should only be awaited?
Response: The last is the intended meaning; sheer eloquence may neither be praised nor condemned.
However, the effects and purpose will be taken into consideration. If the purpose is to refute the truth and establish falsehood, then such is blameworthy because it involves utilizing Allah's favour to disobey Him. But if the purpose is to establish the truth and refute falsehood, then such is praiseworthy.
Hence, if eloquence is used in obedience to Allah and in inviting towards Allah, such is better than stammering. But when a person is afflicted with eloquence that hinders people from the religion of Allah, there is no good in it; and stammering is better than it. And there is no doubt that eloquence is a blessing.

And if Allah, according to His wisdom, closed the way to some means, He will, according to His mercy, open another means for you, which will be more useful.

Luqman [May Allah have mercy on him] said to his son:
"O my son accustom your tongue to saying: "O Allah forgive me."
Certainly Allah has an hour in which He does not reject supplications."

Salaam Ibn Abi Mutai was asked about good manners and he replied in poetry saying:
"You see him smiling when you come to him, as if you are giving him what you are asking him to give you! If he has nothing in his hands save his soul, he will give it. So whoever asks him should show piety. He is just like the sea which you can reach from any direction. Goodness is its waves and generosity is its beach."

Shaykh al-Albani said:
The reason the believers are afraid that their worship will not be accepted is not because they are afraid Allah will not give them their reward, because this goes against the promise of Allah. Allah said:
"فأما الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات فيوفيهم أجورهم "
"And as for those who believed and did righteous deeds, He will give them in full their rewards."
In fact, He will increase their reward, as He stated:
"فيوفيهم أجورهم ويزيدهم من فضله "
"He will give them in full their rewards and grant them extra from His bounty."
And Allah never breaks His promise, as He tells us in His Book'.
The reason that the believers are afraid their worship will not be accepted is connected to their performing the worship in the manner that Allah has commanded them with. They are afraid they cannot perform the good deeds in the prescribed manner; rather, they view themselves as deficient. This is why they are afraid their worship will not be accepted.
Thus, when the believer ponders upon this, it will increase his diligence in performing the acts of worship with precision in the manner Allah has commanded him with. This is by performing all acts of worship sincerely for Allah, and following the guidance of the Prophet.
This is the meaning of the statement of Allah:
" فمن كان يرجو لقاء ربه فليعمل عملا صالحا ولا يشرك بعبادة ربه أحدا "
"So whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord."
[Surah al-Kahf 18:110]
[End of Shaykh al-Albani's speech]
Al-Hasan al-Basri used to say,
"The believer combines good action and fear (that his good actions will not be accepted) while the hypocrite combines evil action and assurance (that his good deeds will be accepted)."

al-Hassan رحمه الله said: “If there comes a time wherein the people make apparent their “knowledge” but they sacrificed acting upon it, when they proclaim love with the tongue but hold hatred in the heart, and they cut off the ties of kinship, Allah’s curse will be upon them … He causes them to be deaf and blinds their insight.”

"The Qur'an removes all the sicknesses that invoke false desires until the heart becomes pure and therefore its desires become pure and it returns to the natural state (fitrah) that it was created in, just as the body returns to the natural state upon being treated.
The heart will be nurtured with faith and the Qur'an such that it will become strong - for indeed the purification of the heart is like the growing of the body."
