Ibn al-Qayyim says in Hadi al-Arwah (p. 48):
مفتاح حياة القلوب:
تدبر القرآن والتضرع بالأسحار وترك الذنوب.
The key to the life of hearts:
Reflecting on the Quran, praying in the early hours/dawn, and abandoning sins.
مفتاح العز:
طاعة الله تعالى ورسوله ﷺ.
The key to honor:
Obeying Allah Almighty and His Messenger ﷺ.
مفتاح كل خير:
الرغبة في الله والدار الآخرة.
The key to all goodness:
Desiring Allah and the Hereafter.
مفتاح كل شر:
حب الدنيا وطول الأمل.
طول الأمل : هو الاستمرار في الحرص على الدنيا ومداومة الإنكباب عليها مع كثرة الإعراض عن الآخرة.
The key to all evil:
Loving the world and having long hopes.
Long hopes refers to persistently striving for worldly gains and continuously turning away from the Hereafter.
مفتاح الإيمان:
التفكر فيما دعا الله عباده إلى التفكر فيه.
فالتفكر المشروع (وجوبًا أو استحبابًا) هو التفكر في آيات الله الشرعية، وهي القرآن العزيز، وآياته الكونية، وهي مخلوقاته الدالة على بديع صنعه، وعظيم حكمته وقدرته تبارك وتعالى.
The key to faith:
Reflecting on what Allah has called His servants to contemplate.
The beneficial reflection (whether obligatory or recommended) is reflecting on the verses of Allah's Sharia'h, which are the Noble Quran, and His signs in the universe, which are His creations that indicate the wondrous nature of His design, His immense wisdom, and His power, Blessed and Exalted.

"قَالُوا أَتَعْجَبِينَ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ "
"They said, 'Do you wonder at the decree of Allah?'"
فإن أمره لا عجب فيه؛ لنفوذ مشيئته التامة في كل شيء، فلا يستغرب على قدرته شيء.
For indeed, His command is not to be surprised at, due to the perfection of His will in everything. Nothing is beyond his power.

Imām Ibn Al Qayyim رحمه الله said: "If the back becomes heavy with sins:
1. The heart is prevented from progressing to Allah
2. The limbs are prevented from getting up for Allah's obedience."

"When the servant recites this supplication, which contains the rectification of his religious and worldly future, with a present heart, sincere intention, and effort to achieve it, Allah will grant him what he has prayed for, hoped for, and worked towards, and his worry will turn into joy and happiness."
قال ﷺ: "إذا دعوتم الله فاعزموا في الدعاء".
Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said,
"Whenever anyone of you invoke Allah for something, he should be firm in his asking."

وهذا من لطفه بعباده حيث أمرهم بأحسن الأخلاق والأعمال والأقوال الموجبة للسعادة في الدنيا والآخرة فقال
This is from His kindness to His servants, as He commanded them with the best of morals, deeds, and words that lead to happiness in this world and the Hereafter. He said
﴿وَقُلْ لِعِبَادِي يَقُولُوا الَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ﴾ وهذا أمر بكل كلام يقرب إلى الله من قراءة وذكر وعلم وأمر بمعروف ونهي عن منكر وكلام حسن لطيف مع الخلق على اختلاف مراتبهم ومنازلهم، وأنه إذا دار الأمر بين أمرين حسنين فإنه يأمر بإيثار أحسنهما إن لم يمكن الجمع بينهما.
"Say to My servants that they should say what is best." (17:53) This is a command to say every word that draws one closer to Allah, including recitation, remembrance, knowledge, enjoining good, forbidding evil, and speaking kindly and gently with others, regardless of their status or position. If a matter is between two good options, He commands choosing the better one if they cannot be combined.
والقول الحسن داع لكل خلق جميل وعمل صالح فإن من ملك لسانه ملك جميع أمره.
A good word is the gateway to all the beautiful character trait and righteous deed, for whoever controls their tongue controls their entire affairs.
وقوله: ﴿إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَنْزَغُ بَيْنَهُمْ﴾ أي: يسعى بين العباد بما يفسد عليهم دينهم ودنياهم.
And His statement: "Indeed, Shaytan causes division between them" (17:53), meaning that he seeks to corrupt between the servants their religion and worldly matters.

"إذا سألتُنَّ الله أمرًا في مَسألةِ الزَّواج، فاسألوهُ زوجًا موَحِّدًا، وعلى السُّنَّةِ قائِمًا، يحفظُ الود ﻭﻳُﺮَﺏِّ ﺍﻟﺼَّﻨﻴﻊ، هيِّنٌ حين الخِصام، ليِّنٌ عِندَ التفاهم، طائِعًا للهِ، صادِعًا بِالحقِّ."
"If you ask Allah for something regarding marriage, ask Him for a husband who is a monotheist (Muwahhid), steadfast in the Sunnah, who maintains the affection, nurtures the family, is gentle during disputes, easygoing when it comes to understanding, obedient to Allah, and firm in speaking the truth."

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Whoever persistently seeks forgiveness, Allah will make a way out for him from every hardship, and will grant him relief from every worry, and will provide for him from where he does not expect."

"This means that the act of seeking forgiveness should be accompanied by repentance and remorse/guilt, not just words.Thus, the repentance that comes with not insisting (on sin)."
"منْ لَزِم الاسْتِغْفَار، جَعَلَ اللَّه لَهُ مِنْ كُلِّ ضِيقٍ مخْرجًا، ومنْ كُلِّ هَمٍّ فَرجًا، وَرَزَقَهُ مِنْ حيْثُ لاَ يَحْتَسِبُ.."
