"We have made this [Qur'an] easy, in your own language."

Allah عز وجل tells us of His blessing and that He has made this Holy Qur'an easy on the lips of the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم.

He has made its words easy and its meanings easy to understand, so as to achieve the purpose behind it and so that people may benefit from it.

Ali ibn abi talib رضي الله عنه said:

Do not be from those who desire the hereafter without working for it and who anticipate forgiveness through lengthy aspirations, and speak in the dunya the sayings of abstinence while doing the acts of its seeker, who fear death because of their abundant sins, yet continue to do the very things that make them fearful.

If they become ill they continue to repent, but once alright they frolic, their nafs compels them to follow its inclinations; they do not compel it to follow their belief.
And Allah knows best.

Prophet ﷺ said:

"Follow the Right Path of Faith strictly, and be steadfast, and keep in mind that none of you can achieve salvation through his (good) actions."

Someone asked, "Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?"

He (ﷺ) said, "Not even me, unless Allah grants me His Mercy and Grace".

- a man shouldn't get amazed by his deeds, no matter what
- abundance of the rememberance of Allah and asking for his rehma ( mercy)
- the companion's desire for knowledge

the gatherings of knowledge = gardens of paradise

Imam Sa'di رحمه الله said:

"A gathering of knowledge in which you sit is better for you than the world and what it contains, nothing can weigh or be equal to the benefit that effects and helps you which you attain through it."
Abandoning the sins strengthens the memorisation

Imam malik رحمه الله was asked about anything which helps to fix the power of memory?
If there's anything that can fix it, then it's leaving off sins.

tawḥīd is natural

sheikh ṣāliḥ al-fawzān (حفظه الله) stated:

man naturally acknowledges Allāh’s Divinity, loves Him, worships Him, and ascribes no partner to Him. but human and shayṭān who suggest to each other polished speech out of deception, corrupt his natural disposition, and lead him astray.

And it is Allah Who sends the winds, so that they raise up the clouds, and We drive them to a dead land, and revive therewith the earth after its death. As such (will be) the Resurrection!

According to the Hadith of Abu Razin:

I said, O Messenger of Allah, how will Allah bring the dead back to life?

What is the sign of that in His creation?

He said:

O Abu Razin, do you not pass through the valley of your people (and see it) arid and barren, then you pass through it (and see it) stirred (to life) and green!

I said, `Yes.'

He said:

Thus will Allah bring the dead back to life."

(Ibn katheer)
Al-Dhia said, “I saw this and have tried it a lot, when I would read (the Qur’an) a lot, it was facilitated for me to hear the hadith and write a lot of it, and if I did not read, it was not facilitated for me.”

[Dhail Tabaqat Al-Hanabilah]
Ordering good and prohibiting evil.

Hudhaifah (May Allah bepleased with him) reported:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "By Him in Whose Hand my life is, you either enjoin good and forbid evil, or Allah will certainly soon send His punishment to you. Then you will make supplication and it will not be accepted".

[At-Tirmidhi, who categorized it as Hadith Hasan].

Imam ibn hazm said:

" Do not leave ordering good even if you fall short in some of it, do not leave prohibiting evil even if you are engaged in some of it, and teach the good even if you don't do it all."

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked:

"at what time does the supplication find the greatest response?"

He ﷺ replied,

"A supplication made during the middle of the last part of the night and after the conclusion of the obligatory prayers."

The Reflection of Nature

Ibn Al-Jawzī رحمه الله said: ‘I Contemplated the greatness of the Creator in rendering my provision in this world through the life cycle of nature—in that it all starts by the driving of clouds that brings down the rain to earth gently, while the seeds of plants are buried underneath just like rotten dead bodies awaiting the resurrection. And when raindrops hit the seeds they agitate turning from yellow and deathly into green and [full of] life.

I concluded that plants are in need of what I am in need of too; the heat of the sun, the coolness of water, the smooth breeze, and (a healthy) earth to grow in. May He be Exalted for showing me what shall discipline me; how I am raised. It is indeed a shame for the ‘self’ that has been acquainted with some of His wisdom and signs, to turn to anyone other than Him.

You should turn to the Originator and seek help and aid of the Causer. If you succeed to know Him, then glad tidings are for you because knowing Him ensures your success in this life and the Hereafter.’

Allāh may test a person with sin in order to set him straight

shaykh muḥammad ibn ṣāliḥ al-ʿuthaymīn (رحمه الله) said:

“how often is it the case that one of us will be better after committing sin than he was before.
in many instances a person errs and falls into sin, then he feels ashamed in his heart before Allāh and he turns to Him and repents to Him, so that he thinks of that sin all the time and continually regrets it and seeks forgiveness.
but another person may think that he is obedient (towards Allāh) and that he is one of the people who obey and worship Him, so he starts to admire himself and does not turn to Allāh, which adversely affects his religious commitment.
Allāh is Wise and may test a person with sin in order to set him straight, just as He may test a person with hunger in order to improve his health. ādam was only chosen after he had committed sin and repented therefrom.”

[al-sharḥ al-mumtiʿ ʿalā zād al-mustaqniʿ, 3/66]

O you who's dwelling in the sins and mistakes, and leaving what the most merciful has ordered to do, and obeying the temptations of the devil,
until when would you be persistent upon your evil?
and until when would you be running away from the nearness of your lord?

You desire from the world which you can't grasp, and aim at the hereafter upon which you have no authority?
Nay but you don't rely upon the provision Allah has destined for you, nor are you fulfilling his rights upon what he has commanded you?
