Someone recited the following ayah while with Yahya ibn Mu'aadh (rahimahullah):
[فَقُولَا لَهُ قَوْلًا لَّيِّنًا]
"And speak (O Moosaa and Harun) to him (i.e. Fir'awn) with gentle speech... " 20:44
Yahyah (rahimahullah) began to cry and said, “My Lord, (if) this is Your kindness to someone who says, 'I am ilaah',
so what about Your kindness to someone who says, 'You are Ilaah (God)'!?"
[Tafsir al-Baghawi (rahimahullah) of Surat Taha 20:44, 5/275]

why is it that the recitation of the noble qurʾān has little to no effect on the majority of muslims? • shaykh muḥammad ibn ṣāliḥ al-ʿuthaymīn (رحمه الله).
The signs of fear ( of Allah) is evident in the seven matters:
First: evident in the matters with the toungue, for he will abstain his toungue from lies, backbiting and useless talks,
And will keep his toungue busy with the rememberance of Allah, recitation of the Qur'an, and the conferences of ilm.
Second: that he fears in the matters of his stomach,
And he only consumes the halal and pure/healthy food and eats from the halal the amount which is required.
Third: that he fears in the matters with his eyes, and doesn't look at the forbidden, and not even at the dunya with the eager perspective and only focuses on the lessons derived from it.
Fourth: that he fears in the matters with his hand, and doesn't spread his hands towards the haram and only spreads it towards the obedience of Allah.
Fifth: that he fears in the matters with his legs and doesn't walk in the disobedience of Allah.
Sixth: that he fears in the matters with his heart, and drives out from it the enmity, hate and jealousy for his brother, and enters in it the recommendation and the affection for the Muslims.
Seventh: that he fears in the matters of obedience to Allah and makes his obedience sincerely for the sake of Allah and fears showing off and hypocrisy and if he does that then he is from those about whom Allah says , " and the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous." (Zukhruf: 35)
And , "truly the God-fearing will be amid gardens and bliss," ( at tur : 17)
And Allah has praised the fearful (those concious of Allah) in his book at my places and informs them that they would be saved from the fire and he (the exalted) says:
"There is not one of you but will pass over it, then We shall save those who had taqwa( consciousness of Allah)". (Maryam: 71-72)

Do not be from those who desire the hereafter without working for it and who anticipate forgiveness through lengthy aspirations, and speak in the dunya the sayings of abstinence while doing the acts of its seeker, who fear death because of their abundant sins, yet continue to do the very things that make them fearful.
If they become ill they continue to repent, but once alright they frolic, their nafs compels them to follow its inclinations; they do not compel it to follow their belief.

If there's anything that can fix it, then it's leaving off sins.

And it is Allah Who sends the winds, so that they raise up the clouds, and We drive them to a dead land, and revive therewith the earth after its death. As such (will be) the Resurrection!
According to the Hadith of Abu Razin:
I said, O Messenger of Allah, how will Allah bring the dead back to life?
What is the sign of that in His creation?
He said:
يَا أَبَا رَزِينٍ أَمَا مَرَرْتَ بِوَادِي قَوْمِكَ مُمْحِلًا ثُمَّ مَرَرْتَ بِهِ يَهْتَزُّ خَضِرًا
O Abu Razin, do you not pass through the valley of your people (and see it) arid and barren, then you pass through it (and see it) stirred (to life) and green!
I said, `Yes.'
He said:
فَكَذَلِكَ يُحْيِي اللهُ الْمَوْتَى
Thus will Allah bring the dead back to life."
