How to Memorise the Qur'ān? - Sheikh Ibn Baz

السؤال: عندي رغبة شديدة لحفظ كتاب الله، فيا ترى ما هي أسهل الطرق لحفظ القرآن الكريم؟ 
Question: I have an intense desire to memorise the Book of Allah, so what is the easiest way to memorise the Noble Qur'ān?

الجواب: أسهل الطرق أن تعين وقتًا مناسبًا لك بعد الفجر، أو في الليل تحفظ فيه ما تيسر،
Answer: The easiest way is that you specify a suitable time for yourself, after Fajr or at night in which you memorise what is easy for you in it.

وتستعين بالله على ذلك، تضرع إليه بالسؤال أن يعينك على حفظ كتابه، وتحذر المعاصي،
And that you seek the aid of Allah in that, implore Him asking that He aids you in memorising His book and beware of sins.

هذه هي الطرق التي توصلك إلى حفظ القرآن.
These are the ways that will lead you to memorization of the Qur'ān.

أولًا: الحرص على ضبط الوقت، الذي تعينه للحفظ.
First, diligence upon being precise with the time that you have specified for memorization.

والثاني: الضراعة إلى الله أن يعينك، ويوفقك، وأن يسهل لك حفظ كتابه.
Second, imploring Allah that He aids you, grants you success, and makes it easy for you to memorise His Book.

والأمر الثالث: الحذر من المعاصي؛ لأن المعاصي شرها عظيم، وعواقبها وخيمة، وقد يحال بينك وبين حفظ القرآن عقوبة لك،
The third thing is being wary of sins, because the evil of sins is great and its consequences are grave. Also, it could come between you and memorizing the Qur'ān as a punishment for you.

ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله. نعم.
And there is no hawl (change from state to state) or strength except with Allah.

‏إن الصلاة على الحبيبِ لنعمةٌ ..
Sending Salah on the beloved are a blessing,
فيها الأجور من الإلهِ فأكثِرُوا ﷺ.
There in are rewards from Allah, so be abundant in them ﷺ !

مهما أخذتك الأشغال، لا تترك اورادك اليومية فإنها زاد مسيرك إلى الله تعالى .

No matter how busy you get, do not leave your daily Wird (daily recitation/habitual practise/Litanies), for they are your provisions on your journey to Allah:

- وردك من القرآن
- Your wird of the Quran
- وردك من الأذكار
- Your wird of adhkaar
- وردك من الدعاء
- Your wird of du’as
- وردك من العلم
- Your wird of knowledge
- وردك من البر والإحسان
- Your wird of righteousness and ihsaan

وكان فضل الله عليك عظيما..💕

يا أبا هُريرة أتبكي على الدُّنيا!
O Abu Hurairah, do you cry over the world?

لا والله، دُنياكم هذهِ لا تُبكيني إنَّما أبكي مِنْ ثِقَلِ الحِمْلِ، وسوء الرفيق، وَمِنْ قلَّةِ الزَّاد، وُبعدِ الطَّريق، أبكي خوفًا مِن أسقُط يوم القيامة مِن على الصراط ولا أدخُل الجنَّة، وَدِدتُ أنِّي لَم أُخلق".

No, by Allah, this world of yours does not make me cry.

Rather, I cry because of the heavy burden, the bad companionship, the lack of provisions, and the distance of the path.

I cry for fear that on the Day of Resurrection I will fall from the path( As Sirat ) and not enter Paradise, and I wish I had not been created."

"‏وَلَن تَجِدَ مِن دُونِهِ مُلْتَحَدًا"

"And you will find no refuge, except with Him."

قاعدة :

لا شيء يستحق الحزن والندم في حياتك ، سوى تقصيرك في طاعة الله ﷻ..

Nothing in your life is deserving of sadness and regret except for your failure in the obedience of Allah ﷻ..

"Do not stop reciting the Qur’an, no matter what circumstances happen to you.”

ملازمة القُرآن وعدم هجره؛ دليل بيّن على محبّته، فمن أحبّ شيئًا لزِمه كملازمة الصاحب لصاحبه،
Sticking to the Qur'an and not neglecting is a proof of your love for it, for whoever loves something, he sticks to it's companionship.

كذلك صاحب القرآن تمُر عليه الليالي والأيّام؛ لا يلبث إلا أن يرجع إلى كلام ربّه خالقه ومولاه،
Likewise the Companion of the Qur’an, nights and days pass by and It only takes a while for him to return to the words of his Lord, his Creator and Master,

كالذي فارق وطنه واغترب ثمّ عاد ليجد المأوى الذي يأويه،
like the one who left his homeland and estranged himself and then returned to find the shelter that shelters him,

والقرآن.. وطن القلب ونعيم الروح الأبدي
and the Qur’an is said to be " the homeland of the heart and the pleasure of the soul and the body"

"أشدُّ عُقوبة في الدنيا
أن يُمسِكَ اللهُ لِسَانكَ عن ذِكْرِهِ"

"The most severe of the punishment in the world is that Allah prevents your toungue from remembering him."
