Cats are awesome. Everybody loves cats and their mischiefs. As a great companion, cats help in lowering your stress levels, keeping your day-night circadian rhythm in check, among other benefits.

However, please be aware that cats are responsible for at-least 53 native species going extinct. Including 33 endemic species.

Just in US, cats kill about 1.3-4.0 BILLION birds and 6.3-22.3 BILLION mammals per year.

You can prevent this, by simply keeping your cat indoor. Many cat owners are not aware of the ecological consequences of house cats. Please try not to be that person.

If it is absolutely necessary that cats go outside, tie a device that makes some noise around it's neck. A simple bell that makes loud noise would altert and warn off mammals and birds. But please note that this method is not very effective. Keeping cats indoor is a superior approach.
