it reminds me of the whole "girly makeover" porn/trope in Hollywood movies.

like when they turn the emo/tomboy girl super girly and feminine with girly dresses and makeup and suddenly she becomes so popular and the boys who ignored or bullied her suddenly all get boners looking at her.

I think a good example would be that scene with the same context in The Breakfast Club.
