Song of the Week #355: Premonition
[](/r/Eminem)
Welcome everybody to the third SotW of March! We're returning to the recently released MTBMB after taking a short detour from the album last week. The eighth track from 'Music To Be Murdered By' that we will be listening to for the next seven days is actually the intro to the album. 'Premonition' will be this week's featured track.
The opening track of Em’s eleventh studio album starts off by commenting on the reception of his previous albums. 'Revival', released in 2017, is widely considered as a weak album with too many pop-features and weak lyrics. On his 2018 album 'Kamikaze', Em responded to the criticism he received, and started a fiery attack at the mumble rap scene that he continues on this track, setting the precedent for 'Music to Be Murdered By'.
Furthermore, Em uses this track to comment on his career in its entirety, from his years of being undisputed and universally loved, until receiving more criticism for his later projects, a topic that he now has returned to on several albums.
Every week there will be a new song that gets featured at the top of the subreddit. Users can leave a comment and the song that gets the most votes might be the new Song of the Week. Suggestions for improving the next post are encouraged.

Song of the Week #354: Our House
[](/r/Eminem) Welcome everybody to the second SotW of March! We're taking a break from MTBMB for the first time since the album's release back in...
Eminem is a big reason for me to be who I am, and it’s something I will never let go of.
Growing up, I was this overweight, silent introvert who didn’t interact with people due to social awkwardness and people being mean.
I didn’t have friends, wouldn’t do anything but game and was generally unhealthy.
Then 2010 happened and someone made me listen to No Love. That song hit me hard and was sort of a turning point for me. Following that, I got into Ems music more and more and heard songs like “Lose Yourself”, “Till I Collapse” and so on.
They shaped me, got me to change my life, get active and more or less become a different, more confident person.
So yes, I owe a lot to Eminem, and when the debate for favorite Em song comes up, “No Love” will always hold a special place for me because it made me who I am.
I am a big Eminem fan and always will be.
Thought I’d share my story with the sub. That is all.
