some of the idioms i always use in my essays !
- a snake in the grass
• someone who cannot be trusted
- take the bull by the horns
• face a problem and take action to solve it
- a fair-weather friend
• a friend who does not always be by your side when you're having problems or troubles
- eat into your savings
• spend some of your saving money
- like chalk and cheese
• completely different and contrasting each other
- in the lion's den
• in a dangerous place
- a storm in a tea cup
• making a lot of fuss over something unimportant
- under the weather
• not feeling well
- have your fingers in every pie
• be involved in many things
- steal someone's thunder
• steal someone's ideas and get all the praises instead
- apple of someone's eye
• someone's favourite person
- see red
• extremely angry/furious
- in black and white
• absolutely clear
- see which way the wind blows
• analyse a situation before doing something
