Yes, this might actually be my first politics book. It’s taken me a whole month to get through it (mostly reading it during my morning taxi rides) tbh I get bored sometimes and feel like my dad every time I open it in the taxi 😂 fr
Anyway, here are some quotes and note read for more context

1. “Democracy is like a tram you ride it until you arrive at your destination, then you step off.” (Page 120) 🥲
2. “We are the people who are you?” (Page 127)
3. “A strongman who claims to represent the people may well rise to power through democratic means, yet often rules behind a democratic façade.” (Page 130)
4. “To hold a conversation, it isn’t enough to have the freedom to talk and the ability to listen. There are also technical preconditions: first, people need to be within hearing range of each other; second, they need at least a basic understanding of what they’re talking about otherwise, it’s just noise.” (Page 136)
5. “If history had been shaped solely by materials, interests, and power, there would be no point in talking to people who disagree with us.”(Page 48)

It also dives deep into bureaucracy and how it shapes power structures. Ngl I really want to finish it soon, but I keep getting lost sometimes. Guess I need to spend a whole day in the taxi to make that happen 😭....

Part 2 will cont....

We had this group assignment for our( Research Methods in Computer Science class....)

Our lecturer told us to read some research papers and make a presentation.
I might’ve forced my groupmates to dive into quantum computing with me they probably hate me for it fr ....
But we picked a cool thesis ....

Title: A Taxonomy of Quantum Algorithms

I'm enjoying this ngl (taking notes and stuff )

Left us completely confused 😄… but hey finished it now
Turns out, this “simple” research wasn’t that simple after all 😂(for meee )
Somewhere between entanglement gotthis mind-blowing idea Quantum Teleportation 🔥 ....Quantum Fourier Transform and alsooo algorithms (31)
My brain needed teleportation too but I managed to finish it… and honestly? It was pretty cool ..I mean nothing experimental in the thesis, but still ....

Me: watches a 4-minute physics explainer video
My brain (as Feynman):
You’re not staffed to learn physics in four years, and you want to learn it in four minutes?

😭
😁9
This quote hits hard Not just for physics for any field.
We live in a fast world:(kinda )
“Explain quantum mechanics in 60 seconds.”
“Learn AI in one video.”
But genuine learning doesn’t work like that.

You can’t compress what took experts years or humanity centuries into a 4-minute clip.

What it really means:
• You can’t shortcut real understanding.
• Expertise takes time and effort.
• Be patient mastery grows slowly.

Still… the inspiring part is, tools like AI, good teachers, and curiosity can help us learn faster.
You don’t need 4 years but trying to do it in 4 minutes misses the point.

Better mindset:

I’ll use every tool to learn faster but I’ll respect the depth it takes to truly understand.

Lesson learned anywayyy🙏(I won't say anything abt physics lol jk )
