Compression of the 3rd cranial nerve: ipsilateral pupillary dilation (unresponsive to light, due to impaired parasympathetic input).
Distortion of the ascending arousal system: Causes decreased level of consciousness (due to pressure on the brainstem)
Compression of the ipsilateral cerebral peduncle: Leads to contralateral paralysis or weakness
