This is the most common type of student visa.
F-1 visa in the US is needed for studying: university, college, school (for 1 year), university preparatory courses. Also, it is issued to students of language courses for 2 or more weeks with a study load of 18 hours per week or more.

Issued to aliens who are enrolled in vocational schools in the United States.
