Many people mistakenly think that the more time they spend on textbooks, the better the results will be. But recent research suggests something opposite. Much more important is how intensively you study. So the first rule is to study less but with more intensity.

What you shouldn’t do when studying:

study for many hours at a time;
study one subject for a long time and repeat the information many times in a row to memorize it;
reviewing the same material several times before moving on to the next topic;
reading and rereading a text

And here are some effective ways to learn:

✔️Study intermittently;⠀
✔️Use a pomodoro technique (there’re apps for that)
✔️Think up questions on your own;
✔️Change topics;
✔️Make up associations with the material you learn;
✔️Reflect on the material;
✔️Ask someone to test you after revising the material;

 What costs are waiting for you when getting education abroad

First, you have to research what costs are covered by a scholarship if you qualify for financial aid. Secondly, it's worth looking at the overall cost of living in the country where you plan to study. Life is always more expensive in big cities and capital cities.

Here are types of expenses that you’re expected to face while studying abroad:

🔹 Visa

A student visa is required to stay in some foreign countries. The cost varies by location and time of stay in the country. Some universities may provide financial assistance to pay for the visa.

🔹 Transportation costs

In addition to the cost of buses, subways, or cabs, you need to remember about the flight. If you expect to fly home for study breaks, it can come out more expensive than staying in one place steadily.

🔹 Living expenses

Living costs vary greatly by country and city of study. Rent depends not only on the place but also on the quality of the room and the accommodation conditions. It's worth researching public transportation stations to make it easier to get to the university.

🔹 Basic supplies

When staying permanently in another country, it's worth keeping basic necessities in mind: local SIM cards, household items, basic food, and furniture.

🔹 Travel expenses

Travel requires setting aside a separate amount of money to travel and live comfortably in other cities. Write yourself a small list of what you will need on your travels, calculate an approximate budget to understand how many trips and what places you can afford to visit.

🔹 How to make money?

If you're going to work while studying to support your life, it's important to consider the number of hours students are allowed to work. All countries prescribe their norms for workdays/hours for students.
