If a word ends in -our, the u is dropped before adding these suffixes:
-ous, -ious, -ary, -ation, -ific, -ize, -ise

Examples:
• humour → humorous
• glamour → glamorous
• glamour → glamorize
• labour → laborious
• vigour → vigorous
• honour → honorary

But with other suffixes, keep -our as it is:
• colour → colourful
• odour → odourless
• honour → honourable
• colour → colouring

Easy way to remember:
👉 OUR → OR only before OUS / IOUS / ARY / ATION / IFIC / IZE / ISE

नास्ति बुद्धिरयुक्तस्य न चायुक्तस्य भावना | न चाभावयतः शान्तिरशान्तस्य कुतः सुखम् ||

Hindi meaning: भगवान श्रीकृष्ण कहते हैं कि जिसका मन और इंद्रियां वश में नहीं हैं (जो योगयुक्त या संयमित नहीं है), उसकी बुद्धि स्थिर नहीं हो सकती। स्थिर बुद्धि के बिना मनुष्य के मन में परमात्मा या आत्मस्वरूप का चिंतन (भावना) नहीं हो सकता। जिसका मन स्थिर और भावयुक्त नहीं है, उसे शांति नहीं मिल सकती। और जिसे शांति ही प्राप्त नहीं है, उसे सुख कैसे मिल सकता है?

English meaning: "The man whose mind and senses are not under control (ayuktasya) does not have a determined intellect.
