Transliteration:
Krodhād bhavati sammohaḥ, sammohāt smṛti-vibhramaḥ,
smṛti-bhraṁśād buddhi-nāśo, buddhi-nāśāt praṇaśyati.

Meaning
From anger comes delusion; from delusion, loss of memory; from loss of memory, destruction of intellect; and when intellect is destroyed, the person falls.

This shloka explains how an uncontrolled emotion can gradually take over a person's thinking and actions.

क्रोध (Anger) → When our desires or expectations are frustrated, anger arises.

सम्मोह (Confusion/Delusion) → Anger clouds our thinking. We stop seeing the situation objectively and may interpret things according to our emotions.

स्मृतिविभ्रम (Loss/Distortion of Memory) → In anger, we forget the lessons, values and principles we already know. We may know what is right but fail to apply it in that moment.

बुद्धिनाश (Loss of Discrimination/Judgment) → Once our guiding knowledge is lost, our ability to reason, distinguish right from wrong and think about consequences becomes impaired.

प्रणश्यति (Downfall) → Because judgment is impaired, we may take impulsive or destructive actions, eventually harming our relationships, goals, reputation or peace of mind.

The incident recently reported from Bihar is a reminder that respect for women and their personal boundaries is non negotiable

If you ever see a friend or anyone else misbehaving with a girl or touching her without her consent do not support it, record it, or stand there as a spectator. If it is safe, intervene and tell the person to stop

If the person is armed, threatening, or the situation is getting dangerous, do not try to be a hero Move to a safe place and immediately call the police

And remember if a friend is the one doing it friendship is not an excuse to defend him. Stop him, make it clear that his behaviour is unacceptable, and distance yourself if he refuses to stop

Whatever the reason or situation may be no one has the right to touch a woman without her consent

Keep your conduct disciplined. Respect boundaries Do the right thing, even when the person crossing the line is your own friend
