For CDS 2027
the first thing you need to decide is whether you genuinely want to prepare for CDS seriously or not
If you have decided to do it, then first sit down and write the complete syllabus chapter wise and topic wise properly
After that divide your subjects according to days for example, 1, 3, 5 and 2, 4, 6 (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday). Keep Sunday mostly for revision. On those days, keep one subject that you like and one that you are less comfortable with. For example, you can make one combination like Geography + History and another like Polity + Economics. Count all your subjects and divide them accordingly.
Now, the important part is how you study.
Suppose you are studying Geography and your first chapter is "Origin of the Universe." Study it properly and revise it on the same day.
The next day, when you sit for the second chapter, first revise the previous chapter and solve its PYQs, and then move on to the new chapter.
On the third day, while studying the new chapter, also revise the previous one and do a quick revision of the first chapter. However, you don't need to solve the PYQs of the first chapter again and again.
Follow this same pattern for every subject. This way, your old topics will keep getting revised while you continue moving forward with the new syllabus.
Once you complete the syllabus, start focusing more on PYQs. Maintain an error register as well. Whenever you make a mistake, note it down and go back to that particular topic and study it again.
Make your entire plan on paper. Sit down for one day and properly think about how you are going to execute it. For example, if you have 20 chapters, write all of them down and make separate columns for first study, Revision 1, Revision 2, Revision 3, PYQs and practice. This way, after a few months, you will be able to clearly see how many times you have studied and revised each chapter.
For resources, use standard books. Don't completely depend on coaching material. Coaching institutes obviously try to present their own content as the best, but your preparation should not be limited to what a particular coaching provides. Focus on building strong basics. If NCERTs are not enough for you or you are not able to study them properly, you can use books one level above them, but whatever you choose, study it properly.
And don't develop this mindset that if a question isn't getting solved, you are not capable of doing it. That is exactly where you need to put in the effort, identify the mistake, understand the concept and improve.
For English, practice a lot. Try to consistently score 70–75+ and aim for 75–80+. If your English is strong, the overall exam starts feeling much easier, especially for OTA.
For English grammar, follow Nemisha Vankal's videos and properly cover the rules from the course.
For Maths, don't use the same method that you use for GS. For GS, for example, you can study the topic yourself first, then watch a video lecture and revise it again.
But for Maths, make sure you follow one standard book and one video series consistently. For example, if you are studying Number System, first watch the lecture from your chosen series and understand the concept properly. Then come back to the book and solve the questions.
If you get a question wrong, don't just look at the solution and leave it. Go back to the lecture, understand that particular part again and then try the question yourself.
So basically, the entire strategy is simple: study properly, keep revising, solve PYQs, maintain your errors, and keep improving your weak topics.
Don't study just for the sake of completing the syllabus. Study to actually understand and retain what you are studying.
If you stay consistent for the next few months and execute the plan properly, your chances of clearing the exam will be very good

DEPT. OF FINANCIAL SERVICES—
Few allegations are in the media that the MDR has been introduced because of external pressure. They are giving reference to US Trade Representative (USTR) report of 2026.
The USTR report has raised the following two issues:
(i) Inability of US electronic payment services suppliers to participate in the UPI ecosystem, including credit transactions on UPI, on a level playing field with RuPay.
✅ Reality:
The NPCI circular of 15.9.2026 does not allow credit transactions of UPI by any other credit card other than RuPay credit card. There is a clear policy of only allowing RuPay credit card on UPI to enable RuPay credit card to become the preferred choice of credit card amongst users in India.
(ii) NPCI market-share limitation of 30 per cent for third-party application providers (announced November 2020; enforcement date December 2026)
✅ Reality:
Although, NPCI had mandated market share limitation of 30 per cent for third-party application providers in November 2020, however, this mandate could not be implemented because companies other than the market leaders could not compete in absence of self-sustaining revenue model. Introduction of MDR on select high-value transactions will provide a self-sustaining revenue model to smaller companies to compete for higher share in the UPI ecosystem. Thus introduction of MDR has been done with the intention of allowing more domestic companies to expand their operations.
2. Contrary to misleading claims made that MDR has been introduced under external pressure, introduction of MDR on select high-value transactions will enable more domestic companies to operate under UPI. Thus, the action of introduction of MDR is a step in protecting India’s sovereignty in Electronic payment ecosystem.
3. Government of India has promoted RuPay credit and debit cards to show that people have a strong domestic alternative. In order that the RuPay credit cards continue to grow, the debit card has been kept free of MDR.
The allegation that MDR has been introduced under any external influence is patently false and misleading.
