✔️In the past 6 years, India has increased its renewable power portfolio from 32 GW to almost 100 GW and is well on track to achieve 450 GW target of renewable energy generating capacity by 2030
✔️Inclusion of “Hydrogen” is unique opportunity to address emerging energy vectors

energy. 120.7 MJ/kg, which is the highest for any known fuel
✔️Found in water, organic compounds and hydrocarbons such as petrol, natural gas, methanol
✔️ Produces water as a by-product and is, therefore, environmentally benign
✔️Finance minister proposed to launch NHM for generating hydrogen from green power sources in 21_22 budget
✔️In 3rd RE-Invest Conference in November 2020, had announced plans to launch a comprehensive NHM
✔️The aim is to develop India into a global hub for manufacturing of H2 & fuel cells technologies across the value chain
✔️To support manufacturing via suitable incentives aligned with ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ will be developed.
