✅ Status: Statutory Body formed under Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Act, 1963.

✅ Ministry: Min. of Commerce

✅ It is India’s official export-certification authority, formed to certify the safety and quality of products that are exported from India.

✅ It provides certification for mandatory items like fish and seafood, honey, dairy products, poultry products, meat products, etc. Certification of other food and non-food products can be done voluntarily.

✅ It also provides for certificate of origin.
