Geographical range - warm, tropical, subtropical waters of Indian, pacific and Atlantic ocean
In India, mass nesting happens ONLY along the Odisha coast - Gahirmatha, Mouth of the devi River and Rushikulya
ONLY olive Ridley Turtle are known for their synchronized mass nesting called Arribada
Females may lay eggs upto 3 times in a nesting season
Imp- Sex of the hatchling determined by the temperature 😮😮🙄
Warmer temperature = produce more females

Karnataka, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh rank high in the conservation of the dhole in India. India has the highest number of dholes in the world, but India don’t have targeted management plans for scientific monitoring of the species
Conservation Status: Besides the tiger, the dhole is the only large carnivore in India that is under the IUCN’s ‘endangered’ category.
The species is protected under Schedule 2 of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 and under Appendix 2 of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
In India, the first conservation breeding centre for dhole was built at the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP) in 2014.

World’s longest travelling raptors start travelling with the onset of winters.
The raptors breed in southeastern Siberia and northern China, and migrate in millions across India and then over the Indian Ocean to southern Africa before returning to Mongolia and Siberia. Their 22,000-kilometre migratory route is one of the longest amongst all avian species.
They get their name from the Amur River that forms the border between Russia and China.
Doyang Lake in Nagaland is better known as a stopover for the Amur falcons during their annual migration from their breeding grounds to warmer South Africa. Thus, Nagaland is also known as the “Falcon Capital of the World,”.
The birds are the least concern under IUCN Red List, but the species is protected under the Indian Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, and the Convention on Migratory Species, to which India is a signatory (which means it is mandatory to protect the birds).
