New Year is around the corner. It is a time when almost everyone makes resolutions. Some plan to give up bad habits while others set goals to push themselves harder.

Amazing holiday. Can't wait!

To make the most of my winter holiday, I am visiting as many new places as possible.

I hadn't thought that this place, a real desert, existed close to my village. It's only 30 km away.

However, it has lagged way behind modern life.

There is no proper road - mud tracks that become extremely slippery after rain/snow.

You can't find a single shop. There is a market on one day of the week.

Houses are spread out from each other. Your "neighbour" lives at least 1 km away from you.

Kids go to school on donkeys. The nearest one is 7-8 km away.

People living in this called their community Chorvador.


By the end of my trip, I felt so grateful to living in a place where I don't feel isolated from modern living facilities. When I compare my vilIage with Chorvador, I don't want to call it a "village".


When I ask the locals why they continue to live there despite all the hardship and struggles, they say it's the place where their parents, grandparents lived. Then I realised it makes sense...
