I always wonder whether books or films actually change our attitude toward things in life.

Does reading a self-help book or watching a motivational YouTube video really change the way we act?

I think that, most of the time, we look for sources that align with our 'built-in' approach or preferences. That’s called confirmation bias.

Take this example: you’re struggling to choose between an iPhone and a Samsung, but deep down you really want the 'status' phone (you know which one it is). Ten people tell you that Samsung is a better deal, but one person says the iPhone is superior — and you go for the latter.

Or imagine you’re not a very forgiving person, but a book you’ve recently read tells you that it’s better to forgive because life is too short to stay in conflict with others. You’re highly unlikely to change your stubborn personality and suddenly decide to let everything go.

There is no perfect daily routine. People may have one, but not for long. Humans are not used to limits and restrictions by nature. We love being spontaneous.

Most of the videos about effective methods on social media are made by people who are glued to devices and die for views and new subscribers.

You try your best to get something done, but halfway through, things start getting in the way. This is where the right mindset should come into play. Life has its ups and downs, so just get on with it and move forward.

It’s good to have some peace and quiet every once in a while. It gives you some time to think and reflect on the past. You start to feel grateful for the lessons you’ve learned and more careful about the things that might come your way in the future.

Noise and activity in the city can be a real source of stress, but there’s not much you can do about it. It's just part of city life. If you ever feel overwhelmed, try to put your mind at ease. When the city finally slows down at night, take a long walk on your own. It does make a difference:)

Whenever I ask a question, a student looks it up in ChatGPT bot and gives the answer as if he/she had always known it.
